Alright, in 8 years President Obama played 333 rounds of golf

Or

3.47 rounds of golf per month

Or

1.25 rounds of golf per week.

In 8 weeks, President Trump has played golf 10 times,

or

1.25 games a week since he took office.

Now, during the Obama administration, Trump stated "Obama's golf games are scandalous in light of "the problems and difficulties facing the US," and promising that if elected, "I’m going to be working for you. I’m not going to have time to go play golf."

Now, when this was pointed out to Mr. Spicer, his response was "the president is entitled to a bit of privacy."

So, my questions are simple:

Based on his statement from his campaign days, where the hell is the President finding time to play golf?

And secondly,

Why is it okay for President Trump to play rounds of golf because he is entitled to a bit of privacy, and Obama was basically neglecting his duties as President?

Finally, just a point of trivial information, President Eisenhower set the record for the most games of golf played while in office, at 800.

In addition to that and much more costly, Trump's using Trump Tower and Mar-a-Lago resort as both respite and work, will cost the taxpayers as much in 1 year as all of the same did for Obama travels...in 8 years.

Be prepared therefore for a Trump pres. of two terms for just security, travel and related expenses, to be the first...Billion dollar presidency.

Never saw all of that in golf.

Worth it if he cuts the debt by a trillion.

In fairness to Obama, all of Obama's heavy partying and many exotic high-carbon-footprint vacations cut into his golf time considerably.

I for one, was happy that Obama mostly fucked off, rather than work. Just like it doesn't bother me that President Trump is a teetotaling workaholic who requires very little sleep

You need to re-do your math. A month is 4 1/3 weeks. 3.47 is LESS than 4.33, so the frequency is LESS THAN one round per week. When figured exactly, by the number of days in Obama's presidency, it actually works out to just under .8 rounds per week. So, Trump is playing more than 1.5 times as much as Obama did, per week.

No way with all of those tax cuts in his budget. Actually paying down the debt by a net $1 trillion would take draconian cuts in almost everything, including the pentagon. Or a huge tax increase and very likely, both and we both know, those things...will never happen.

Then we can call W a real fiscal conservative. He fucked off more than Obama did, although down at the ranch wasn't what most people would call...exotic.

For ease of mobility, I use my on screen calculator and funny how 416 weeks divided by 333 rounds comes out almost exactly .8 rounds per week. Maybe even after all of those golf course developments...Trump's game still needs the work.

He means 333 rounds divided by 416 weeks, which is .8 rounds per week.

Or a round every 8.77 days

It's actually 0,8004807 rounds/week.

It's actually 0,8004807 rounds/week.

Ummm, I think it's actually:

(8 * 365) + 2 = 2922 days (two leap years)
333 / 2922 = 0.11396 rounds per day
0.11396 * 7 = 0.7977 rounds per week

K.

Musicmystery -> RE: Double Standard (3/21/2017 4:20:03 PM)

Oh boy.

If you have 30 days in a month, and you play 3 times, you play 30/3 = every 10 days.

IF you have 2922 days, and you play 333 times, you play 2922/333 = every 8.77477477477... days.

If you play .11396 rounds per day, and multiple it by 8.77477 etc. days, you'll have 1 round.

Meanwhile, Trump, in 56 days, played 10 times, that's 1 game every 5.6 days (vs. 8.77477 etc days).

Trump is averaging 156.69% of Obama's game time, a little more than 1 and a half times as often.

There is of course the detail that trying to make a case based on comparing a single 56-day sample to a 2922-day average is pretty desperate.

Musicmystery -> RE: Double Standard (3/21/2017 4:54:46 PM)

I honestly don't give a fuck how much either one of them plays/played. I'm more concerned about what happens ON the job.

Given Trump's record so far, I'd prefer he spend every day golfing.

The point I attempted to make prior to the thread going to a debate about math and sampling size, was...

Why the fuck did the conservatives raise so much hell about the time Obama spent on the golf course, but when Trump is on the course, he is 'entitled to a bit of privacy?'

In other words, both men took the same pass time with totally different judgements being made.

I.E. the double standard.

Personally, I would have preferred Obama spending less time on the course and more time doing, or at least attempting to do what he said he wanted to.

As far as governing style, both Obama and Trump seem to have the same "Give congress a general idea of what I want and HOPE they give me exactly what I want without me offering a single pertinent detail."

Take another wild guess, blind man

When it comes to working with Congress, Obama was infamously aloof

President Trump (the workaholic) is fully engaged

That isn't anything to do with real numbers, can you explain what this innumeracy consists of?

anyway, so Obama was president for 416 weeks. 333/416 is 0.8 rounds a week.
