Russia tried to hijack the US democratic process, says a senator investigating alleged interference in the US election.

A hearing by the Senate Intelligence Committee opened on Thursday morning. Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump's son-in-law, is to appear next week.
US intelligence agencies believe Russia tried to help Mr Trump win in November by damaging Hillary Clinton.

But Russian President Vladimir Putin has flatly denied the allegations.

In the committee's opening remarks, ranking Democrat Mark Warner said "Russia sought to hijack our democratic process" by employing a disinformation campaign on social media, which he describes as "Russian propaganda on steroids".

He said Thursday's session would examine how Russia may have used technology to spread disinformation in the US, including the possible generation of fake news for voters in key states, such as Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Embarrassing "stolen information" was released through websites such as Wikileaks, Mr Warner said, at "seemingly choreographed times that would cause maximum damage to one candidate" - Hillary Clinton.

"They did this with an unprecedented level of sophistication," he said.

The Sound of Silence (Original Version from 1964)

Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence

democrats cant admit that they had a very badly flawed candidate. she just thought she was gonna win and didn't really fight for it. people in this country are tired of the establishment they do nothing but hurt the citizens in this country. They say the Russians were involved but nobody talks about Hilary deal with the Russians giving them 20% of the US uranium and that they paid bill Clinton double his speaking fee but hey theres nothing there

Hillary's aid gave away his Gmail password, there was no "hacking" needed

Comey testified that the Russian's intent was to undermine confidence in US elections

The Democrats and their media cohorts are aiding and abetting them in that effort

Like I've written, give the repubs credit. They didn't want to vote for somebody they thought was corrupt so they voted for somebody, they knew was corrupt.

Nothing new for the 20th and now 21st century repub presidential (and congressional) political play book.

I mean think about it.....

Hillary could have deliberately financed and executed a bloody (criminal) coup d'etat in a sovereign S. American country of a democratically elected govt. (Chile)

Or.....

Sold missiles to a confirmed terrorist nation. (Iran) resulting in the most high level criminal pardons of all time.

Or.....

.....then used the proceeds to finance a patently illegal war in C. America

Or.....

outed a CIA field agent as revenge against her spouse for defying the white house for telling the truth.

I mean it is possible Hillary could graduated from her petty little corruptions like almost all politicians to the real pro ranks of the republicans.

And just think, could have laundered million$ in Russian cash selling her properties to their kleptocratic oligarchs and steadfastly refused to release any financial records or taxes to hide it all.

I mean you have to admit, everybody should feel so much better having the real pros in power and in the white house.
