WickedsDesire -> Doctor Who gets first openly gay companion (3/31/2017 12:13:47 PM)

The new series of Doctor Who will see the Time Lord joined by his first openly gay companion.

Bill Potts's sexuality will be revealed pretty much straightaway in her second line of dialogue when the show returns to BBC One on 15 April.

"It shouldn't be a big deal in the 21st Century. It's about time isn't it?" Pearl Mackie, who plays Bill, told the BBC.

"That representation is important, especially on a mainstream show."

I preferred Smith's debut to Capaldi's...

WickedsDesire -> RE: Doctor Who gets first openly gay companion (3/31/2017 12:29:35 PM)

Capaldi suffered from the weaker story lines and writing of poverty. And matt smith was just a shit actor - probably an English jackal

Emperor dalek reminds me of Trump but as i have wine I frankly cannnot be arsed looking for that clip

that was my favourite clip of his tenure WM

fear me

There have been other gay or bi characters on the show, so this is no big deal... Captain Jack Harkness was openly bi, and Madam Vastra the Silurian had a human wife... so what is the hoopla?

Edited for spelling

Smith wore out his schtick very fast, but that was still the best debut since Wurzel GummidgeJon Pertwee.
If the England thing is an issue, you'll be a McCoy man?

Good point that: I suppose they're dodging the issue by saying that neither Jack nor Vastra were full time sidekicks?

A trick question as a lot depends on the writing

it should have been Capaldi - i will give it to him for 4 billion years

1. David Tennant
2. I wlll sneak Peter Capaldi in here.

then

3. Tom baker - I can never find the jelly baby clip
4. Patrick Troughton

A special mention to Peter Cushing 10/10 and also Paul McGann 8/10 (potential) are you aware of his second appearance (not many are)? - hell Withnail and I is 10/10

I believe I am not biased (nation wise) and completely excluded Sylvester - worst ones

Davidson
Colin Baker
matt smith - he had a lot of strong writing

Your excuse for Capaldi I believe applies to McCoy. I'd given up on Doctor Who by the time he came in (Colin fucking Baker yurned a lot of people off), and a lot of his stuff I've only watched in repeat or DVD years later, but...
He got the best run of scripts they'd done since the late '70s. (Some of them he couldn't work with: there's instances of McCoy trying to act angry and pre-empting Harry Enfield doing Kevin. On the other hand, "Kill the girl," "Any big decision creates ripples," and "Wicked!" are all perfect tens.) They let him use his own accent as well, which he gently mocked Tennant over.

What's your all time favourite Who story? I'd go for the Silurians, which is odd as Jon Pertwee is not one of my favourite Whos at all...

Dalek is a really good one. I was very, very angry when they started trotting the fuckers out again because it trashed that story.

It's the best story they've done since the relaunch by a mile.

WickedsDesire -> RE: Doctor Who gets first openly gay companion (3/31/2017 1:55:46 PM)

do you think they will oil up and roger each other with a strapon? on the BBC - which is totally biased towards englandshire jackals

WhoreMods -> RE: Doctor Who gets first openly gay companion (3/31/2017 1:57:14 PM)

Tennant might have, but I doubt Capaldi would be up for that.
