Will O'Reilly's career at Fox come to an end soon? Mercedes wary of O'Reilly's misbehavior and pulled their ads from the O'Reilly Show. The New York Times published an investigation this weekend that found five women who made allegations of sexual harassment or inappropriate behavior against him. Those five women received settlements totaling about $13 million, The Times reported.

Why am I not surprised by this ? O'Reilly is Fox's fair-haired boy and the most believed bullshitter in broadcasting history. Same people I guess that actually voted for...believing Trump and his bullshit.

Or he could be blackmailed and the women are getting paid off. Honestly, I feel like as a woman who have been "sexually harrassed", I would want that dude to go to jail instead of taking his money. BUT, maybe US don't jail men for sexual harassment so mine as well bleed him. I don't know. In my country, they would be thrown in jail. On top of that, our sexual harrassement, assault reporting centre is done up like a very friendly upscale relaxing spa. For women's comfort, filled with professionals to help them, and all the medical facilities to get evidence samples. We take any abuse of women very seriously. And to make sure it's as easy and comfortable as possible for women to report it.

By the way this are claims that are in most cases very difficoult to prove it often gets to be a "he said she said situation", where the victim has to undergo a lot of scrutiny character assasination. About Bill O'Reilly he collected at least another sexual harrasment claim, and was accused by his daughter to have chocked her mother (his wife at the time of the incident), that it's not contrasting with his public personality he is unnecessarely aggressive, quite creepy, dismissive of women.

It's time for sexual harassment at any place to be a crime in the US! So that men could get jailed. IF they keep getting away by paying off women. The sexual harassment will continue!

Yes it's sad that sexual selfdetermination is not seen an important issue but just professional damages are, I guess that like slander or defamation the 1st amendment raises the bar for prosecution compared to other countries, so unless there is no provable damage it's not considered an issue, while other legal systems protect the right to dignity. Anyway there's also to consider that for how the legal system of the usa is set a victim might prefer civil litigation as victim rights are less protected in usa's criminal court while in civil litigation there is a lower standard of proof, in addition for a crime to be prosecutable intent and in this case that motivation was sexual gratification, that's hard to prove.

For the minority of viewers that actually care about women being harassed... they will tell themselves that the women just made it all up, it's a liberal plot, etc. They accepted worse from Trump and still love the guy. This is nothing.
