FR The situation will correct itself. As they lose credibility they will lose ratings. And by "the book" they will make less money. Eventually they will be impelled to tell the truth, and to retract mistakes. But then, this will take time. It is not going to happen overnight. They already have a bi problem with the internet, with people going to foreign news sources at least to verify. The internet has changed alot of things. Ask them "How come PressTV is reporting something different ?" and they say "Well that is Iran's propaganda machine" and then ask "Well where did they get those pictures ?". Shit like that. Actually RT is a better sources than Fox. The BBC is pretty good as well. The problem is that this wil take time. It will take people who will prove them wrong again and again and again and they start losing revenue. Then, I am not sure, seen businesses with a sign says "UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT" ? That is what I forsee. You can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time. Eventually come the consequences. When you start losing money because nobody watches your news, you will get the fucking message. Today, cable boxes tattle on what you watch, some of the even have cameras. Low resolution but they want to know if anyone is actually watching or if you are all outside and forgot to shut the TV off. There is no longer a need for "Neilson families". I used to work on their TVs, they had an addon to the tuner to report what channel it was on. Now that is built right in. hell, you can push a button and order a pay per view. You think they don't know what you're watching ? In the old days, the market wanted real news. Before TV it was the newspaper. Before that it was Paul Revere with one if by land n shit. But never underestimate the power of the media. They can start a war or stop one. They can cause a revolution. This power must be controlled, and the people who wield it must be honest, not like the fuckers we got now. I have known people who made the news and I know how they distort things. It is not how it used to be, now it is all sensationalism. They used to have integrity, them days are over. In fact we live in a time when you just about can't trust anyone. They all want you to have your bills automatically paid, know why ? So they can fuck you up the dupa. And I am not talking porn websites, I mean the cable company, the phone company, and around here the WATER company especially. They can make a mistake and it can cost you your house and you got no recourse. Anyway, Fox won the right to lie with impunity in this country. In court. And like in Venezuela, they said Chavez shut down a TV station he didn't like. Bullshit. While the CIA was down there trying to depose him this TV channel did not broadcast this important news and instead broadcast cartoons. Their equivalent of our FCC refused to renew their license when it came up. If someone came and kidnapped our President and a news outlet refused to report it, they were not acting in the public interest and would, by law, lose their license to broadcast here. Look it up. Also, in the old days, when a TV station signed off, played the national anthem and all that, they had a statement that you could write to the FCC if you believed the station was not operating in the public interest. Now everything is cable and I am not so sure they have any jurisdiction over it. You do not need an FCC license for a cable channel. It is not on the airwaves, they got nothing to say about it. That's progress. So now we have the best communication in the world that has ever been, but half of what is communicated is bullshit. Great. T^T
