vincentML -> TRUMP SIGNED AWAY YOUR INTERNET PRIVACY. (4/4/2017 9:31:35 PM)

President Trump signed a bill on Monday repealing internet privacy rules passed last year by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that would have given internet users greater control over what service providers can do with their data, a White House spokeswoman confirmed.

The FCC regulations would have required broadband companies to get permission from their customers in order to use their “sensitive” data — including browsing history, geolocation and financial and medical information — to create targeted advertisements.

Trump signed a bill secretively on Monday that will allow your internet service provider to sell your browsing history to target you as a sales client.

No more internet privacy.

This is not news. It has been that waty for years. The NSA has every email you ever sent or recieved since like the 1990s.

But blame Trump for shit that happened ten (or more) years ago. It is in style now.

You never had any privacy. Where the fuck do you think you are ? Privacy is when we are in my garage burning one. You get on the net, nothing is private. Didn't anyone tell you ?

Obama gave Google and Facebook sweetheart deals for helping with political campaigns, allowed them to exploit user data while curtailing Verizon and others from doing he same things. Trump pulled that out from under the Obama cronies' feet.

Leveled the playing field

From your own source:

Meanwhile, the GOP and industry supporters of the bill argued that the regulations would have placed unfair restrictions on broadband providers, given that web companies like Facebook and Google also make data-driven ads and do not have to abide by similar restrictions.

“We welcome President Trump’s action today affirming Congress’ decision to hit the reset button by stopping rules that would have created a confusing and conflicting consumer privacy framework," Jonathan Spalter, CEO of USTelecom, said in a statement.

Nice deflect to Obama, but let's focus back on trump. He signed away your internet history, are you really okay with that? Now as much as the words "Obama did it first" keep filling your head, let's try to focus on this issue before we move on to the next. Come on you can do it, you have enough brain cells to write words, you can at least address the issue at hand directly instead of creating a smokescreen to avoid voicing your real opinions on what happened.

I don't know how i feel about this.

It is a scary thing knowing that your privacy is now up for sale...
But in the same breath - i know we kinda really didn't lose anything...

'Privacy on the Internet' is an illusion because even with laws that could of prevented ISPs from selling your data to advertisers, it didn't stop from popular search engines, web browsers, and social media applications from doing Exactly That. So ultimately - the only thing we really lost was the illusion that we had privacy in the first place. So yeah - i dunno.

Propaganda words, "Internet Privacy Act"

Kinda like the words "Patriot Act"

No one posted anything like your words, "Obama did it first". What Obama did was give his ultra wealthy 1%er friends unfair business advantages in return for their help with Democrat political elections

Trump leveled the playing field

Internet history is another issue, and if you insist on having the government in charge of your privacy, you have got to be pretty darned special

Especially in light of the way the Obama regime used the FISA program to spy on the political opposition all through last years campaigning. Even destroying careers with it, ruined lives

You are far better off relying on private watchdog groups and keeping up with technology on your own, and keeping government out of it as much as possible

That's what I was paying my isp for and now thanks to Trump i have to pay someone to protect me from my isp. How is that going to work? Makes no fucking sense at all. . . . . How will a third party prevent my isp from storing my browser data?

There is a lot that can be done by third parties. What do you think federal bureaucracies are, if not third parties. There is encryption, cookie management, ad blocking applications, on and on. Be careful who you use as your provider - you know, personal responsibility and buyer beware

Who held your hand when you crossed the street last, thought you were a big boy now

Do you want fast free-world, capitalist pig Internet, or do you want strictly controlled communist North Korean Internet

Exactly. Trump pretended he was going to drain the swamp. Instead, he's deepening and expanding it.

WickedsDesire -> RE: TRUMP SIGNED AWAY YOUR INTERNET PRIVACY. (4/5/2017 7:35:07 AM)

Is there anything left I am not sure - I can’t even remember the exact specifics and the difference between the UK and USA what this one was about what was left..I really don’t know I just presumed our security services were collecting this data for years…two/five/seven –eyes or whatever they are all called.

Did May and Trump do it – no – but yes, as they are striking the final blow.

No-one really accesses your stuff they have no reason too – they will just do, or perhaps the ISPs, algorithms - to data mine and make cash, or more cash.

Anyway doesn’t face book do that (which I am not on)? (Allegedly) sell every iota of your browsing habits, words etc, it to additional parties
To me the site is just what I would describe as a Virus. And since they bought instagran, ive not done much on that, and bought whatsapp – I use telegram superior anyway….and skype if I have to with a friend.

But is its 1984

witch hunts Malleus Maleficarum
McCarthyism

What next a camera in your screen recording every keystroke back ground conversation ( and I am not talking webcam) which some people tape up…wasn’t there a story about smart TVs kettles washing machines etc just the other week

Anyhoos I really forget the nitty gritty of this one – perhaps they are allowing the ISPs do some work for them – and probably allowing them to use that information for ad revenue

anyone?

I know a lot of them come out with "terrorism" as carte blanche excuse to ease the minds of sheople, why stop there: gun nut rampage, murders burglers, rapists, he swore at me, i dont like the way he was looking at me, the scoundrel cheated on me, humped my best friend, stood on a insect, I dont like the look of the sun today. When does it become frivolous? But they have that main excuse at the
moment that they will use to ram any format of mass surveillance.

Anyway they've had software in place for years to red flag those nutters. ..do you think it works, and to what extent?

Encryption -well, same of my logic & what i think applies to that.

I cant mind the scope of the patriot act either - whats bits have lapsed, whats been extended, whats been added

What is a virus what is it purpose - how is this any different - a super duper virus

The swamp is more, Obama using the IRS to attack TEA party groups, the ATF to run guns to Mexican narco terrorists, the FISA program to spy on political opponents, and the FCC to pay his Google and Facebook gazillionaire friends back for political favors

Rather than the hard working guy who volunteered, took a pay cut and shrugs off all kinds of slimy attacks from lowlifes like you in order to mop the mess up

If his remarkable lack of success in political negotiation reflect his business acumen, small wonder the sorry little fucker spent so much of his career evading his creditors by declaring bankruptcy.

I thought I explained that. He bought failing business and tried to get them viable again. Sometimes it just doesn't work. On the other hand, Romney was a scrap man, intending to liquidate from day one.

Trump himself mainly used bankruptcy for those failing businesses. It is a legal tool and I have actually used it myself. You make it an issue, which proves you know nothing about business. When you are trying to make money, everything that is legal is legal. People who have no understanding of the situation might say it is bad that someone filed for bankruptcy, but that is because they do not know shit about the subject.

I'll agree that Trump is an arrogant asshole. And he talks too much. But the thing is he made money, and he won the election. Maybe that bothers you, but I don't really care.

And this whole thread is bullshit. Google has been selling this information for years. It was never illegal. It is just another thing liberals try to nail a republican with, and this one does not stick. They were already doing it, there was never a law against it. Therefore, nothing has happened.

T^T

mnottertail -> RE: TRUMP SIGNED AWAY YOUR INTERNET PRIVACY. (4/5/2017 11:47:11 AM)

I missed that cartoon lucylastic 10/10. It’s pretty much how i see it. But think harder.

I am not a piece of meat or a slave (forget the invalid terrorist argument they use that to invoke carte blanch paranoid fukery of lies).

If the corporate jackals wish to sit at the table and try and buy me – fair enough.

But i am not anyone's to sell - now am I. I think i could get 4 bits of cake for you lucy.
