BTW, however, I'll take the CDC over the WHO as the latter is too often in bed with the rent-seekers.

What source(s) I use depends a lot on the topic.

Oddly enough, my first source is right here on the message boards! I don't "just accept" anything ANYBODY says, but there are a couple of the right wing nut jobs that are on here that I can pretty well figure that anything they say is false and so politically partisan as to be pretty much useless except for laughs. And that is certainly not to say that there aren't a few left wingers that come pretty close to that same lack of believability. But when you read what both sides have to say you can pretty much guess that the truth is close to the center. From there, I may look up some of the finer details, and as I said, where I look depends on the topic.

I come here, as well, and read the posts to gain perspective on opposing points of view - which is why it frustrates me when discussions escalate so quickly into name calling, deflection and focus on past beefs with other posters rather simply addressing each other's individual points of view.

I don't find that odd at all. There was a man here who posted thoughtfully, wisely beyond his years. A really great read every single time and he was always calm. I read him a lot even on topics I wasn't completely interested in because his brain candy was addictive. He made a comment off the cuff one day that lead me on a webz road trip and ended with an article on brains which give me a new glasses moment and changed me..yanno, bettered me. It was an epiphany of a magnitude I would not have given credit or thought to finding because of a kink link.

Yup,I don't find it odd at all but then I like to watch blood drip so.. I might be a poor judge of what is odd! I have had some very deep and complex discussions on a variety of subjects with more than a few of the folks here .. on the forums and on email from the other side. I've been pretty blessed in that regard.

Get the kink on, the link on..it's all good. ;)
