ORIGINAL: WhoreMods Bit unfair on the American football player, that: he actually has a skillset and has put some effort into mastering his craft. However crap he is at AF, he can't be a more incompetent fuckweasel than the other two so long as he mostly runs in the right direction while he's on the pitch. The rumor is they traded for Brock Osweiler and a second round draft pick, and were going to immediately drop Osweiler. The NFL would look at that as buying a draft pick, which is a no no. That Osweiler would be signed to a stupidly huge contract one year, demonstrate he lacks the skills and talents to merit the contract, and was almost traded for and cut, shows that he just may be crap at AF (in relation to other QB's or QB wannabe's in the NFL; I mean, that he made it to the NFL demonstrates he was considered to have a better skillset than those who didn't make it into the NFL). In 2016, during free agency, Osweiler signed a $72M 4-year contract, with $37M guaranteed over the first two years. The trade with Cleveland was Osweiler and a 2nd round draft pick for... uh, the 2nd round draft pick was compensation to Cleveland for taking Osweiler and his contract. Cleveland, effectively, gave up nothing, but salary cap space, which they had in spades (they had the greatest amount of cap space of any NFL team). Osweiler will make $16M this year, even if he is sitting at home, unemployed by an NFL team. So if he was involved a trade deal, he has a much more convincing claim to be worth his salary than Spicer or O'Reilly, then. Not necessarily. If they accepted Osweiler's contract to get a 2nd round pick, then the 2nd Round pick was the actual desired part, and what they had to give up was taking Osweiler. To be fair, Osweiler did a fairly good job backing up Peyton Manning in Manning's final year. When Manning got hurt, Osweiler stepped in and didn't totally suck. By the end of the season, however, the Broncos decided that Manning, even with fingertips numb from nerve damage in his neck, was a better option than Osweiler.
