Trump supporter asks a federal court to hold the president liable for any damages stemming from a lawsuit filed by protesters who attended a Kentucky campaign stop.

A white nationalist leader accused of assaulting a young African-American woman at a Donald Trump campaign rally filed a countersuit on Monday claiming the president directed him and other supporters to remove protesters.

Matthew Heimbach claims in his federal court filing that he “acted pursuant to the directives and requests of Donald J. Trump and Donald J. Trump for President” and that, if he’s found liable for damages, “any liability must be shifted to one or both of them.”

The legal fight stems from a March 2016 rally in Louisville, Kentucky, at which protesters were allegedly roughed up and ejected by Trump supporters after the then-candidate barked from the stage “get ’em out of here!”

The protesters filed civil assault and battery claims against Heimbach and two other Trump supporters and accused Trump of inciting his supporters.

Heimbach, a leader of the white supremacist Traditionalist Youth Network and a vocal Trump supporter during the campaign, can be seen in video from the Louisville rally pushing and screaming at a young African-American woman as Trump bellows “get out!”

The woman, Kashiya Nwanguma, joined two other protesters in filing the lawsuit against Heimbach, the two other Trump supporters, Trump and his campaign.

Heimbach, who is representing himself in the case, did not answer a phone call Monday afternoon, nor did he respond to an email message seeking comment.

The White House press office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In Heimbach’s Monday filing, he “denies physically assaulting” any protesters. But he also levies blame at the protesters, writing that they “provoked a response” by trying “to disrupt a free assembly and campaign event and to infringe rights of the defendants and other attendees to freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom to vote and other constitutional rights.”

He writes that he “acted, if at all, in self defense,” as well as “in reasonable defense of others,” while also contending he was acting at Trump’s instruction.

Noting that Trump is “a world famous businessman” who “relies on various professionals including attorneys and other professional advisors,” Heimbach writes that he "relied on Trump’s reputation and expertise in doing the things alleged." Heimbach writes that he relied on Trump’s authority to order disruptive persons removed and that Trump was legally within his rights to ask other attendees to assist in defending their constitutional rights "against ‘protesters’ who were disrupting.”

Heimbach’s motion mirrors one filed Friday afternoon by another protester accused of assault in the lawsuit, Alvin Bamberger, a member of the Korean War Veterans Association who also was captured on video pushing Nwanguma.

While Bamberger’s lawyers in their filing said their client “admits only that he touched a woman,” he “denies that he assaulted that woman.

He directed his minions to remove them! That is absolutely preposterous you will be birched at dawn for your sheer cheek.
There is absolutely no way he said this live on the tele. Ive never known the lying fuk to put a foot cloven hoof wrong on the tele

Except this was something the white nationalist, like many people on this board, was dying to do.
All he needed to hear was that it's acceptable. It's also why Trump is responsible for the recent upswing in hate crimes.

Trump effect FTW.

Now that he has revealed himself to be not much more than a self-serving crony capitalist neocon, his alt-white supporters have no reason not to go for the jugular.

the first clue is he listened to a man who's good at chapter 11

second, in representing himself he has a white fool for a client.

I think it's been well established legally that the "I was only following orders" defense doesn't work.

It has also been well established that those who give the order are just as culpable as those who follow them.

I agree which is why I was so mad at the left for telling the little pukes that if trump was elected it meant it was acceptable to be racist. Now I understand that they really wanted to win the election and were willing to say and do anything it took to accomplish that, but perhaps they should have stopped and thought about what spreading the message might actually accomplish. And while most folks knew that was bullshit, the ignorant racists seem to have taken it to heart. Now we have to fight that much harder to force them back under the bridge where they came from. But keep blaming trump for all the racists in the world. It only makes the left look like idiots while the right wins elections.

I guess you missed the part where Trump repeated practically everything that the newer 'softer' white nationalist movements have been saying verbatim. Trump didn't create racism (straw man), he just legitimized it when he used it in his campaign.

I knew there was going to be spin coming, but I didn't anticipate just absurd it would get.

Trump, who had no secret service protection at the time, was supposed to just let the paid leftist trolls throw whatever they had snuck in at him. Grenades, steel balls, tomatoes with razors and pins in them, whatever they wanted to throw

Because Marxism

I think there's a lot of blame to share all the way around.

The key point in the end is that racism is alive, well, and in some quarters, rampant. The rest is symptomatic.

Frankly, we as a nation aren't where we thought we were. That's worth learning, even if the lesson was harsh.

This leftward spin is what I find amazing. Have you been waiting since last November to use it or did it just recently come to mind.

Frankly, we as a nation aren't where we thought we were. That's worth learning, even if the lesson was harsh.

This is actually a good post.

Here is the thing however. Racism never went away because some people put bumper stickers on their cars that said "COEXIST" or "Why can't we all get along". Especially racism exists in the "minority" communities because the multicultural crowd has defined racism in such a way that it is permissible in the "minority" community. Imagine, if you will, Jeff Seesions saying, as Eric Holder did, "My people" while referencing one color of people only.

All of the "pretend" fixes the left has to things like racism is bound up in political correctness. And people are getting very tired of political correctness. Political correctness has pretty much taken on nazi like tones.

Then along comes a presidential candidate that refuses to be politically correct. It's not just that he isn't, he knows political correctness is destructive and refuses to countenance it. So, the left, because he doesn't follow their rules, calls him all sorts of "ist ". Racist, misogynist...blah blah blah. That then allows all of the people who actually are racist to come out of hiding. They've always been there but you've always pretended they weren't because political correctness required it.

And when I say the racists, and other haters, have come out, it's not just on the right. It showed up first in public on the left. But the right followed along because they've gotten tired of people like "spanky" who is a devout racist being allowed to be racist under the rules of political correctness.

No spin. All you're seeing is what was actually always there coming out as political correctness shows what a destructive force it was and is now about to die off, hopefully.
