Two more leftists who obviously live in deranged, cartoonish fantasy worlds

Definitely a thing among the alt left

Since November, everybody has been living in a deranged cartoonish fantasy world, sport: that's what happens when you elect a deranged cartoonish fantasist.

The "electoral college was a democratic bad idea " ?
First of all, this country was established as a republic.
The electoral college was put in place so that those in more populated areas of the country (California, New York) couldn't decide an election.
I am reminded of the historical account of when the declaration of independence was signed , Benjamin franklin was stopped on the street by a reporter and asked, "Mr Franklin, do we have a democracy or republic?", to which Mr Franklin replied, "you have a republic Sir,...IF you can hang on to it".
It was the consensus of all founding fathers that this republic would not stand unless the country could aggressively cling to moral character.
Their concerns have manifest themselves in spades.
The problem with a true democracy is that if history has taught us anything , it is that most of the people are wrong most of the time.

Smaller, less populous states refused to ratify the constitution without protections against mob rule, so we have the electoral college

Now leftists demand mob rule, and they won't be getting it in that form at least any time soon

You think that irony is something your mum does for you at the weekend, don't you?
Just to be clear though: it isn't the left who've vigorously embraced the new post-truth world where anything and everything they find inconvenient or hurtful can be dismissed as fake news or liberal hysteria, it's you people. I suppose that the current state of psychotic denial the right have embraced is the final result of their long standing allergy to reality.

Below we have the population of white males over 16 in the thirteen states and the order in which the states voted ratification.
It is pretty clear that we can see you are full of shit as usual.

Obviously, this includes the far left BBC:

Honeymoon from Hell: The Liberal Media vs. President Trump

[image]http://www.newsbusters.org/s3/files/styles/blog_body-100/s3/images/interioroverall.jpg[/image]

As President Trump approaches the end of his first 100 days in office, he has received by far the most hostile press treatment of any incoming American president, with the broadcast networks punishing him with coverage that has been 89% negative. The networks largely ignored important national priorities such as jobs and the fight against ISIS, in favor of a news agenda that has been dominated by anti-Trump controversies and which closely matches what would be expected from an opposition party.

[image]http://www.newsbusters.org/s3/files/styles/blog_body-100/s3/images/charttwo.jpg[/image]

For example, President Trump’s push to invigorate the economy and bring back American jobs received a mere 18 minutes of coverage (less than one percent of all airtime devoted to the administration), while his moves to renegotiate various international trade deals resulted in less than 10 minutes of TV news airtime.

Eight years ago, in contrast, the broadcast networks rewarded new President Barack Obama with mainly positive spin, and spent hundreds of stories discussing the economic agenda of the incoming liberal administration.

For this study, MRC analysts reviewed all of ABC, CBS and NBC’s evening news coverage of Trump and his new administration from January 20 through April 9, including weekends. Coverage during those first 80 days was intense, as the networks churned out 869 stories about the new administration (737 full reports and 132 brief, anchor-read items), plus an additional 140 full reports focused on other topics but which also discussed the new administration.

Five big topics accounted for roughly two-fifths (43%) of the whopping 1,900 minutes of total network airtime devoted to the Trump administration. But those five topics accounted for a much larger share (63%) of the negative coverage hurled at the administration, as the networks covered each with an overwhelmingly hostile (more than 90% negative) slant.

Well, all things considered it just might be that it is easier to report dumb ass things when you are doing dumb ass things and good things when you're doing good things.

Five Trump changes you may have missedIn his first few months as president, Donald Trump has signed executive orders, a few laws and directed his agencies to start overturning Obama administration policies.

Many of these policies have made a lot of noise, but here are some changes you might have missed.

1 Hibernating bears can be shot - why? would be my question
wolves can be shot from helicopters - must be a rich mans sport or something that one.
2 more mentally ill people can buy guns without a background check
3. A rule protecting streams (creeks)
4. oil and gas companies dont need to declare their bribes, slush funds, kickbacks to johnny foreigner
5. Browsing history for sale your consent is not required -surely we should be the ones to sell it

6. He cancelled TPP costing those heartland farmers that voted for him $4.4 billion/year..
(and soon to come $38 billion in US ag exports on the chopping block when he fucks up NAFTA).. I wonder how many American jobs that adds up to..

"In one of his first major acts as president, Donald Trump signed an executive order Monday pulling the United States out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership – a move that the agriculture industry says will cost them more than $4.4 billion in revenue each year."

From the American Farm Bureau Association:
“U.S. agriculture creates jobs and supports economic growth in rural America, and American agriculture depends on maintaining and increasing access to markets outside the United States. Trade is vital to the success of our nation’s farmers and ranchers. More than 25 percent of all U.S. ag production ultimately goes to markets outside our borders.

“This is why we believe it is also important to re-emphasize the provisions of the North American Free Trade Agreement with Canada and Mexico that have been beneficial for American agriculture. U.S. agricultural exports to Canada and Mexico have quadrupled from $8.9 billion in 1993 to over $38 billion today, due in large part to NAFTA. "
