ORIGINAL: KenDckey Single payer insurance would be payment to the state, thus both creating a monopoly and putting insurance out of busness within the sttate. I wonder if this might be a RICO violation. I also wonder if the state then would maintain control over the health care decisions of the people, how much pay health care officials and institutions can make within the state, I would consider this does meet the requirements of ACA. Would this include worker comp medical issues since the state is the sole payer? What about elective procedures, where do they fall into the mix? Not true of course. Germany for example has a single payer health care system and also dozens of insurance companies competing for business and making a profit. I mean if you read people here, you quickly understand that they believe what they want to and rarely research the merits of an issue. I mean imagine this if you will, in a so-called 'socialist' country, many companies actually competing for your business and making a profit. But hey, don't tell anybody, we wouldn't want to ruin their 'capitalist' fantasies. And as an example of people reading what they want simply to reinforce their partisan prejudices. Calif's economy is one of the best if not the best in the country...4.9% unemployment, did in fact go from a $20 billion deficit to a $7 billion surplus.
