Chaingang -> Second hand smoke? How about second hand fire? (7/26/2006 12:20:45 PM)

"Smoker blamed for wildfire"
Officials ask witnesses to the nearly 35,000-acre Canyon fire to call them

Yeah. Smokers have rights. In their own homes. I hope they smoke themselves to death - tobacco, crack, weed, etc. Smoke up, you dumb motherfuckers!

Outside in the world smokers can be regulated because everyone has to live in such a way so that the expression of their rights does not infringe upon the rights of others. Your right to swing your fist ends at the tip of my nose.

Do not hang your hand out the window of your car. Do not flick ash into the street. And for fuck's sake, do not discard still sparking butts onto the streets and highways! Use your ashtray, fuckwit.

Some of you smoking motherfuckers - with all your fucking self-righteous bullshit about your fucking rights to smoke - set an area near my home on fire. There's a cost in that - so pay up or shut the fuck up about your rights.

Yeah, I thought so...

Many people just do not understand that concept.  It amazes me.

Silliest thread ever.

Let's ban air travel because some passengers hijacked an aircraft and slammed it into a building.

Let's ban driving because some idiot got drunk and ploughed into a bunch of pedestrians.

Let's ban credit cards because some criminals forge them and we all have to pick up the bill.

Let's ban everything then nobody can indulge in a personal witch hunt because someone is doing something they don't like.

Now shhhhh.  I'm trying to enjoy my cigarette.

Thanks.

Estring -> RE: Second hand smoke? How about second hand fire? (7/26/2006 2:58:30 PM)

I don't smoke, I don't believe in the dangers of second hand smoke, I don't agree with the assault on smoking either. But I have to say, I am always amazed when someone in a car throws their cigarette butt out the window instead of putting it out in the ashtray. Is it that much of an effort to open the ashtray? Not to mention, it is littering.

EnglishDomNW -> RE: Second hand smoke? How about second hand fire? (7/26/2006 3:07:03 PM)

I once did 22 smoke rings from a single draw.  It made me cough for a week.

But it was worth it.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm tobacco, c'mere you sexy beast.

gooddogbenji -> RE: Second hand smoke? How about second hand fire? (7/26/2006 3:11:31 PM)

I have yet to find a smoker who consistently disposes of their butts properly.  I don't care if you wet it and throw it out or use an ashtray or even a sub, if he's into that.  But don't, just don't throw it on the ground.  Ashes decompose quickly, filters do not.

Yours,

benji

I have to agree to a point Chaingang, if you are going to partake of any activity, do it with some regard for the surrounding area. I use an ashtray no matter where I'm at, but then again I kind of dig coasters under my glass as well, maybe I'm a civilized bastard, who knows. But don't blame me simply because I smoke, your nose isn't that protested (just noting your comment..lol). If an asshole does something, it doesn't mean that everyone that has something in common with the asshole takes responsibility. Perhaps you should take your bitch to the automakers, I had to get an ashtray as an accessory, since the OEMs seem to not put them in anymore. Of course the lighter is standard equipment, figure that one out?

windchymes -> RE: Second hand smoke? How about second hand fire? (7/26/2006 4:37:18 PM)

What always amazed me was how smokers have the right to smoke, but I don't have the right to breathe clean air. I've sat in traffic behind a smoker....he blows out his side window, and damn if it doesn't come into my car, and my windows are shut. I do not have the right to sit in my own car and breathe clean air.

One positive thing about NJ, if you're a non-smoker.  Restaurants and public buildings are now all non-smoking.  And they're taxed so heavily now that the name brands are $6 a pack.  Sucks to be a smoker here.

Estring -> RE: Second hand smoke? How about second hand fire? (7/26/2006 4:40:26 PM)

We should ban the traffic too then. What quality of air do you think there is in a traffic jam? A whiff of smoke pales compared to that.

pahunkboy -> RE: Second hand smoke? How about second hand fire? (7/26/2006 4:40:53 PM)

as long as someone mentioned this. ...i dislike when someone with heavy perfume/cologne is trapped with me in a tight space.

i am all for cleaniless, bathing etc. but pls spare us the chem plant smell.

i have a simply way of dealing with it. i seldom go anywhere.

Amazing she figured out that it was tobacco smoke and not the diesel smoke of the 18 wheeler beside her. You are correct on one thing though windchimes. When you are poluting the air with your car, far more than a line of people smoking, you don't have that right...because now you are the bad guy. If the shoe fits.....

See, i knew i smoked nonfiltered Camels for a good reason.

On a side note bravos to Englishdom and Estring, great posts from you both.

Rongreenw -> RE: Second hand smoke? How about second hand fire? (7/26/2006 5:10:23 PM)

last week i was minding my own business buying some chocolate when i saw someone SMOKING A CIGARETTE.  i couldnt even buy CHOCOLATE without someone SMOKING A CIGARETTE.  i shouted across the street to him "your cigarette is making my clothes stink!!" but the idiot was too far away to hear.

later that day, i saw a car burned out on the side of the road.  i knew straight away it was because the man behind the wheel had been SMOKING A CIGARETTE and had forgotten to put it out properly.

yesterday i saw a PLANE flying overhead and there were so many people on board it SMOKING A CIGARETTE you could see a LONG TRAIL of SMOKE coming out of it.

I work in a factory that reprocesses TOXIC CHEMICALS and when i took my mask off to go for a pee, the man outside the window was SMOKING A CIGARETTE.

I FOUND OUT TODAY THAT MY ENTIRE FAMILY NOW HAS SERIOUS ACNE BECAUSE OF THESE THOUGHTLESS PEOPLE.

(if the anti-smoking people on here think this post is ridiculous, please remember................. you started it)

Rongreenv;

SHHHHHH ! You're going to spill the beans. Keep talking and our group will never get rid of that pesky ozone layer.

You better be more careful in the future or I'll report you to number six.

It's hardly amazing.  I can easily tell if someone is smoking in a car ahead of me in traffic even with the windows up.  If you can't tell the difference between cigarette smoke and diesel exhaust, pardon the pun, but you've trashed your olfactory epithelium .

Yes, you see a cloud of smoke coming out of the car and that tells you that someone is smoking in the car. Do you really believe that even if you get a whiff of the smoke that that is worse for your health than all the car exhaust you are breathing from the cars around you? It is amazing how common sense gets thrown away and emotions take over when this subject comes up.
