Donald Trump attacks US media at 100-day Pennsylvania rally

“Media outlets like CNN and MSNBC are fake news,” he added. “They’re sitting and wishing in Washington. They are watching right now, and they would love to be with us right here tonight. But they are trapped at the dinner, which will be very, very boring. But next year, maybe we’ll make it more exciting for them in Washington and we’ll show up, but we have a good chance of showing up here again next year, too.”

US President Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on the media during a rally marking 100 days in office.

He told supporters in Pennsylvania that he was keeping "one promise after another", dismissing criticism as "fake news" by "out of touch" journalists.

Mr Trump decided to skip the White House Correspondents' Dinner - the first US leader to miss the event since an injured Ronald Reagan in 1981.

Earlier, huge rallies were held against Mr Trump's climate change policies.

Mr Trump's approval ratings hover at around the 40% mark - believed to be lower than any other president at the 100-day marker.

At the rally in Harrisburg, the president said the media should be given "a big, fat, failing grade" over their coverage of his achievements during his first 100 days and told the cheering crowd he was "thrilled to be more than 100 miles from Washington".
He quipped that at the same time "a large group of Hollywood actors and Washington media are consoling themselves" at the correspondents' dinner "that will be very boring".

Until now, late president Ronald Reagan in 1981 was the last US leader to miss the annual dinner, when he was recovering from an assassination attempt.

Addressing the journalists and celebrities at the dinner in Washington, Reuters White House correspondent Jeff Mason defended his profession, saying it was "our job to report on facts, and to hold leaders accountable".

"We are not 'fake news'. We are not failing news organisations, and we are not the enemy of the American people," Mason said.


A scorecard compiled by the website Politifact found that of Trump's statements 69% were either mostly false, false or "pants on fire".

Back then, we couldn’t choose one particular claim over another, so we combined them all together and awarded his campaign statements the Lie of the Year. 76 percent of the statements we rated from him at that time were either Mostly False, False or Pants on Fire, out of 77 statements.

Oh, come on now,

what else did u expect for him to say, really?

He's had a lack luster 100 days, is working on having to deal with almost 100 lawsuits, almost every executive order that he's written,
( u know, the same executive order process that he bitched about Obama using as "over reaching his authority".) has been kicked to the curb or seriously delayed by the courts.

We're going to pay for any rumpwall that he swore that Mexico was going to pay for.

His approval ratings keep dropping, (the only thing he really seems to care about.) Like a rock, to the point where he might be thinking about filing a CH.11 bankruptcy for that too.
Most people don't follow his tweets anymore.

So far the only people profiting from his policies are the late night comedians.

His supporters don't care.

They don't care that he's an intellectual 12 year old. They don't care that he's a pathological narcissist. They don't care that he has the attention span of a goldfish with brain damage. They don't care that his mental problems are so severe that he probably doesn't even realize he's lying.

What's more, they are too fucking stupid and out of touch to even understand that he has completely betrayed them and has changed himself (or rather has let others change him) from a populist fascist into a typical neocon. Shitty as it all is, nightmare B is actually marginally less horrifying than nightmare A. I would rather America keep being its douchey imperialist self than setting itself on self-destruct and watching China or Russia take over.

Well you do seem to have a real problem with reality.
I dont see anyone praising him, with any link to credibility, certainly not without a caveat.
That this is the first trump(fail) post in the last few days
Its almost unheard of. Not one right winger/conservative/repub/or libertarian have posted anything close to saying he or congress has done anything "good" for quite a while.
100 days on and he is still lying and trying to capture the allure of the campaign trail.

Clinton got the nomination because the party did not want Sanders.

Which is it ? You say he is the bankruptcy king or some shit, over four bankruptcties, two of them before the reform.

Anyone remember the movie Soapdish? The lead character--an aging, insecure soap opera star (in red below)--periodically bolsters her ego by visiting shopping malls where fans can mob her and seek autographs.

Trump's rallies remind me a lot of that.

So you complain about endless Trump-bashing by endlessly bashing Hillary.

Maybe the reason people keep bashing Trump is because he's an embarrassment to the country, the first president in living memory who is legitimately mentally ill, poses real danger to both the country and the rest of the world, and has absolutely no self-control whatsoever.

I know you feel great that you get to tell the liberals that they lost, but I refuse to believe that you or anyone else could think that any of that is an exaggeration.
