Is Trump right about Australian healthcare?

Republican senators are sounding sceptical of an Obamacare replacement passed by members of their own party in the House of Representatives.

It marked Mr Trump's first legislative victory and goes some way to keeping a key campaign promise to roll back his predecessor's signature healthcare reform.

But several Republican congressman who voted for their measure admitted they did not even read it.

One Republican senator said a final version will be "near impossible".

In a celebration at the White House after the vote, President Trump declared that Obamacare was dead.

Hours later, Mr Trump raised eyebrows when he praised Australia's government-funded healthcare system during a meeting with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull in New York.

Progressive critics including Senator Bernie Sanders quickly pointed out Australia's universal healthcare, a system in which Republicans have long attacked.

White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders suggested on Friday Mr Trump was "simply being complimentary of the prime minister, and I don't think it was much more than that".

But Mr Trump appeared to contradict his aide an hour later, when he tweeted: "Of course the Australians have better healthcare than we do - everybody does. ObamaCare is dead! But our healthcare will soon be great." he truly is off his rocker

In a sign of the uphill battle ahead, nearly every major medical group, including the American Medical Association and the American Hospital Association, strongly opposes the measure.

Critics expressed disbelief that the bill was passed without even allowing time for the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) to give a cost estimate.

Spend
GDP Australia 9%
GDP America 17%

One can logically conclude that if the Americans moved to a Universal health care system they would save loads and loads of cash and also improve their shit rankings no matter how you look at it. Eg just google "where does the shitty blind robbery USA health care system rank on whatever list"

Now the USA jackals, well some of them, are a backward thinking lot - so they were 44 out 51 on the efficiency list. Being near the top of the list is a good thing. Dragging your arse along the bottom and paying for it excessively is not a good thing.

I reckon Bernie could take trump in a fight.

That reminds me is Bernie the "undead" as he looks about 200

Maybe the slip up of the rhetorical truth can be used sometime this century for universal coverage.

Universal Healthcare is definitely good!

The real Obstacle in America is that, especially Right Leaning Americans have no faith in government capable of actually setting up hospitals and running hospitals themselves!

I mean end of the day, alot of government involvement will be needed to have universal healthcare.

They need to go ahead and pass that thing so they can find out what's in it.

He was making a comparison to Obamacare being about to implode. Apparently that was a little over progressives head.

Shows what he thinks about his own bill that "passed" the house.
Obamacare never had such low approval ratings
but then obamacare has been wrecked by repubs, and greedy insurers.
why wont you discuss the bill that passed?
Is it because the senate has thrown it in the trash for all intents and purposes.

Foot stomp foot stomp foot stomp. That's all I hear. Why don't you give me some citations. I'm sure you can cut and paste exactly what Trump was thinking because...well...because you just know it all and even if you don't you'll stomp your little feet until you get what you want.

That's a girl princess. Wiggle out of admitting you have no citation and no knowledge of what you're talking about. It is what you do. We discuss that on other threads. Here you show it...your ass hanging out.

You ask for a cite specifying what trump was thinking... what sort of delusion are you having?

The US Government Couldnt Run a Whorehouse
August/11/2014 5:27AM

The recent outrage about how our government is running the VA hospitals and how they treat our veterans seems to shock most people. Not me. I have stopped believing the government of this country can run anything. Please note the solution to that VA problem is money. Your money. The bill passed to spent billions more to fix the VA problem. But, it won’t fix the problem. The president hired the ex-CEO from Proctor and Gamble to fix the real problems. Systemic mismanagement. The next week Proctor and Gamble announced they may drop or sell as many as 100 brands. The ex-CEO mismanaged the company so badly the shareholders are demanding dramatic restructuring to repair the damage Bob McDonald did while CEO. Isn’t that good news for the VA and encouragement that the billions Obama will give old Bob will be spent wisely and that the systemic mismanagement will be fixed?

That won't happen any time soon Greta.

It's not just right-leaning Americans either.
The average American is sooo paranoid and shit-scared of anything to do with the government that they don't trust them to do anything good for anybody but themselves.
And to be fair, they are probably right.

The whole society is paranoid and nothing much will happen until somebody like Abe Lincoln gets to stand up and for people to honestly believe in him.
Until that day, the US will lurch from one crisis to the next, kicking the can down the road, until it devolves into total anarchy and dispair.
