Yes. The real significance of the French poll result is the decisive rejection of the right wing populist movement, which had been riding high on successes in the US and the UK Brexit votes. The French people chose inclusion and co-operation with the EU project over the jingoistic insular racist neo fascist Le Pen and her toxic Front National by a huge margin of 65-35%.

If any people should value the principles of cooperation and inclusion it would have to be the Europeans who saw their continent decimated and millions killed in world wars during the last century. The French refused to turn the clock back and are facing the future with confidence.

Good on them.

It's really not as decisive as you want to believe.
The underlying problems that are helping the global neo-fascists are not going to be solved.

This election was essentially the next-to-last attempt to solve an unsolvable problem. Trump is doing a lot to hurt the neofascists because he has betrayed everything they stand for and has been exposed as a fraud... but sooner or later, they're going to find someone with actual convictions who doesn't just want to be loved.
And if enough of them get into power, then people like Bannon will be setting the course on a global scale.

I support any candidates who are devoted to destroying Islam.

So of course the battle for eradicating the Ideology of Islam is lost here.

And this is a woman who will actually go head on against Islam. The very religion that oppresses women.

But no, people voted for people who is gonna carry on the lie about how peaceful and wonderful Islam is as a religion.

It's a victory for that religion in both Netherlands and France.

It would be utterly impossible to 'destroy Islam'. There are far too many Muslims and, anyway, you can't 'destroy an ideology' because it's not a physical thing. The fact that you and others like you can't, or won't, distinguish between the dangerous Muslims and the ones who only want to live peaceably pisses off the OK ones and helps to turn some of them into terrorists year after year. This is why people like Le Pen don't reduce violence against the West; they add to it.

On the other hand, a historical record number of people hand in blank votes as protest.

And low voter turn out.

And on the other hand, Le Pen has historically made her National Front party have more votes than ever in history of their voting. More than double the number of votes they ever had.

So it's like Green Party of the US gaining 30+% of votes, that is pretty amazing.

Macron has to do really well the next five years.

You can destroy an ideology if you start making people feel disillusioned in it.

Christianity must be declining in numbers over the years, because there are many anti-christians out there to question Christians and their faith, and bring out all the negatives in that religion. And on top of that. Anti-Christians don't get called Xenophobics or Racists by their Government for doing so.

And if only there isn't 100% of Islamic countries out there who makes it against the law to convert out of Islam. We would see more declining Muslim members too.

I think the first battle to eradicating Islam is Non-Muslim countries, not being supportive of Islam, like a Le Pen leadership would make happen. And putting pressure on Muslim Countries to stop making it a Criminal Offense to leave Islam.

Any Religion can die.

Look at Greek Mythology and Viking old Pagan Religion. All just fairytales now.

Much more to do with Christianity - the way it once was, anyway - just not meshing with people's lives as much as it used to. The 'power of God' has been supplanted by the 'power of reason'; the idea that God controls one's destiny has been supplanted by the idea that the individual controls his or her own destiny; the idea that ultimate happiness happens only after a death that has been preceded by a life of suffering has been supplanted by the idea that you can have the good life here on this mortal plane. Etc, etc, etc.

Le Pen would have made things worse, not better. One way to make people turn to the angriest and most violent aspects of their religion is to start a campaign of hatred against that religion in its entirety.

More like, they go dormant and serve just as fairytales - till people breathe life into them again, because they serve some new purpose. Thus, some blood and guts Paganism fitted with Nazi warmongering, amongst other things, so, pop, it was back in vogue again.

Because Money Talks too with Muslims. If Chinese is making them rich, why should they murder us? They would probably murder us if we threaten their faith, like how they shut down that Christian Jakarta Governor down for telling Muslims to vote for Non-Muslims.
