Status: offline 		1) Both France and US has not have their Female President Yet

2) Both Countries claim they voted against, instead of for. For example, it's not because they prefer Trump, but they voted for Trump because they feel Hillary is worst. It's not because they want Macron as President, but just that Le Pen is worst in their eyes, so they had no choice but to cast for Macron.

3) The "AGAINST" that both Countries voted for was AGAINST a potential Female Leader

So now, perhaps there is validity in the question. Would Le Pen win if she was a Man? Would Clinton win if she was a Man?

Hillary did lose because many voted against her. Not For Trump.

And seriously, there is barely any Macron supporter online. Every Macron voter says they hate him but hate Le Pen more.

This Melenchon Dude seem to be their preferred choice but don't know why he didn't reach finals. Suppose to be Bernie Sanders of France.

But the difference also.

Bernie came from the same party as Hillary, so Bernie supporters voted AGAINST Hillary.

But Melenchon has his own party separate from Macron. So his voters were willing to vote for Macron to stop Le Pen.

Status: offline 		I was sick on election day and couldn't go to the polls. However, I would have voted for Trump over Clinton. I trust her less than Trump. That being said, if the Democrats had brought forward Sanders instead of Clinton, I would have voted for him over Trump. Again, a trust issue. All 3 had things that I liked and disliked. I still think Liz Dole would have made a great President and don't see it as a fe/male issue. Just a political and trustworthyness one.

She would do better!

She wouldn't get issues like, being criticized for having a child so late stage in her life, causing the down syndrome of her child. And those were Liberal attacks on her! If she was a man with a down syndrome child, she wouldn't get flak for that!

The other thing that worked against her was because she got a new born baby. And like, she was more interested in being VP than being a Mom to a special needs child. Again! A man wouldn't get shit for that! But she did.

In that Election, people literally voted for Obama to stop the possibility of Palin being President in case McCain died during Presidency.

But the issues against her were crazy! It was all so personal and attacking her on what society expects a role as a mother. And since she was right wing, all these attacks came from left wing.

No wonder woman who do make it to top leadership can't have kids. Like Merkel, Theresa May, Julie Gillard, Nicole Sturgeon. All these Female Leaders made it and don't have kids.

Does Le Pen have children? Yes! Three of them! And lost! Hillary we know have one kid!

It's like when a woman supports Right Wing, people think she is supporting a camp that oppresses woman's right!

Yet you have Sarah Palin, who raised like 4 or 5 kids? Has a House Husband. And became Governor. A solid example of a powerful empowered seemingly a woman who lived a life envisioned by left wing women. Not the typical subservient to man type of wife.

But Left Wing people scream at her as if she is trying to dis-empower women. Look at her own life? She has lived by example how empowered a Right Wing woman can be!

I saw conservative men that lefties consider sexist embraced her and respected her for her achievements.

While I respect house wives, but no matter what, juggling home and work, is much harder than just juggling a home without outside work. That's reality. It is hard being a woman! Because it feels like, the guy can decide he is too tired to help out at the end of the day with the kids because of his work, but as a woman, even IF you work, and you were tired at the end of the day, you also just suck it up and take care of the kids.

Hillary's biggest shortcoming was that she was more right wing than Obama (who wasn't as left as the left wanted), and it was hard to get excited about a rightward shift after Obama shit all over his quasi-socialist 2008 promises.

Bernie would have been hope and change all over again... not because he's an old white man, but because he's actually left-wing.

There's another question related to these gender issues, and the mention of Sanders above: does anybody seriously think that last year's campaigning might have been more civilised if the old fart had got the democrat nomination, rather than the female hate figure, or was this argument just another form of "But Hilary!" ing for certain rightards to fall back on when they had nothing else to say in their and/or their candidate's defence?
