cost, length of time, lawyer fees, homelessness, illness, crime, job loss, laziness, overstaying a visa, complexity of the process
Ask anyone who has gone thru the immigration process legally, or someone who was denied for some reason

yeah, and even after the cost, length of time, lawyer fees, US fees, travel costs etc to get approved & the visa, there is absolutely no guarantee you will be allowed into the US, that nasty border guard/INS agent has total control and can turn you away after going thru all that shite...
