In case you had any doubts about your new Fuhrer, he seems pretty anxious to go full autocrat and imprison reporters who publish leaks about his incompetence.

Of course, leaks about Hillary are not only okay, but to be encouraged and Russia was right to help everyone make an informed decision when voting. It's just the leaks about Trump that must be punished.

Personally, I think anyone who dares criticize President Joffrey should be shot, and I think the RWNJs on this forum would agree with me.

Sorry, you don't get to evoke 1984 regarding some imaginary actions by Democrats and then support this shit.

Does he want to go after people who publish leaks, or people who published classified information ?

Leaks.

As in, bad things about HIM.

Not the people who helped him win the election, not Julian Assange, not the Russians. They are his friends.

He wants to imprison reporters from CNN, WaPo, etc... basically, anyone who makes him look bad should be in jail.

Don't you know who this guy is??

I think Trump will quit being President by the end of his Term at this rate!

I think the media is only interested in reporting negative news about Trump at this rate and this will carry on for until the end of his term.

Wouldn't it be funny if he stepped down and Mike Pence became President!

Yes, the fact that Trump wants to be a fascist dictator and imprison his enemies is really negative news.
I feel so sorry for him.

That's just the media spin.

You know if the media loves you, every "dictatorial move" can be spin into something positive and beautiful.

I mean, it's like the reporting from BBC versus our local news. Sometimes I read the shit, they spin everything to make it sound so bad when it's not true at all. In term of them not understanding our system over here and how we think is not the same as how they work.

It's not the media spin.
They are simply reporting what Comey is telling them.

With Trump, spin is not necessary... the truth is damaging enough.

Oh come on.

Based on what you know about Trump, does this sort of thing really sound totally out of character for him?
So you think that he's such a mature, disciplined human being that he is totally above asking the FBI director to lock up people who make him feel bad?

Comey isn't working for anyone-- he has a hero complex that compels him to make a point of doing what he believes is the right thing.
That's why he wrote that letter that ruined the election, that's why he's bringing all of this to the public's attention.

Obama’s crackdown views leaks as aiding enemies of U.S.

Even before a former U.S. intelligence contractor exposed the secret collection of Americans’ phone records, the Obama administration was pressing a government-wide crackdown on security threats that requires federal employees to keep closer tabs on their co-workers and exhorts managers to punish those who fail to report their suspicions.

President Barack Obama’s unprecedented initiative, known as the Insider Threat Program, is sweeping in its reach. It has received scant public attention even though it extends beyond the U.S. national security bureaucracies to most federal departments and agencies nationwide, including the Peace Corps, the Social Security Administration and the Education and Agriculture departments. It emphasizes leaks of classified material, but catchall definitions of “insider threat” give agencies latitude to pursue and penalize a range of other conduct.

Government documents reviewed by McClatchy illustrate how some agencies are using that latitude to pursue unauthorized disclosures of any information, not just classified material. They also show how millions of federal employees and contractors must watch for “high-risk persons or behaviors” among co-workers and could face penalties, including criminal charges, for failing to report them. Leaks to the media are equated with espionage...

Leakers aren't reporters, genius.

And Obama was talking about classified information that could get people killed (the article you linked to specifially states 'related to National Intelligence'), not reports from disgruntled employees frustrated by his incompetence.

If you agree that we should punish leakers of classified intelligence, then Trump himself should be thrown in jail for what he just told the Russians.

Trump is the President and has the right to do what he did.

He did it to impress his friends.
It's legal, but it's also extremely fucking stupid.

Nobody can deny that Trump is a threat to National Security.

I'd say Comey and the WP are more of a threat to National Security.

And this is why Trump got elected.

Bread and Butter people are frustrated that Bread and Butter issues are not solved. While there is all these constant politicking.

The pressure from the media should be more about, "Alot of people in this region needs help! What is Trump doing to help that situation or improve things for all those sectors?"
