There's still a good chance that Trump will serve the full four years.

I know every rule is made to be broken, but impeachment isn't something that is going to happen right away and there's also a pretty good chance that the Democrats won't win as big as they think in 2018... especially when their entire message is 'we're not Trump'. Unless some sort of undeniable bombshell explodes in Trump's face (and he can't cover it up), that election is going to have a huge effect on whether or not the GOP keeps him around.

FFS the Democrats have already tried 'we're not Trump' and it didn't work! Why are they still doing it?? People actually preferred a message of fascism and insanity to a non-message that implied more of the same neoliberalism that has been ruining the country ever since Reagan started it. There is no reason why they wouldn't also prefer a message of kleptocracy and incompetence. We all know how the RWNJs on this board defend him even as he becomes totally indefensible.

I get that this fucker needs to go, and to be honest if he were shot in the face multiple times, I would rejoice... but how about we get some sort of sign that this isn't the same old Democrats and they're actually listening to people? What about some policies that don't suck? There is absolutely no reason why America can't have a decent left wing party-- the blueprint is Canada/European Social Democracy. That should be the STARTING point, not some far-off dream that is somehow considered un-American.

I guess you could say that a combination of gerrymandering and "I'm not Hillary" won over "I'm not Trump"

Kinda sad when you think about it.
When is the last time the American people overwhelmingly voted FOR someone?

1984.

The bar for impeachment is very high.

It takes a long time, and culminates in a trial by the Senate.

They'd more likely pressure him to resign. Give him some face-saving reason.

That's what this false narrative is all about

That's the bottom line

Nullifying an election

It's been nonstop since the election, on the part of the alt left media

I saw the first impeach Clinton bumpersticker three days after the 1992 election.

McConnell announced his intention to strive to see Obama fail immediately after the 2008 election.

Save your outrage.

Outrage?

Join the real world sometime, I have been laughing at you fools all day

We can see it in the drool of your felchgobble and the shit of your pants, nutsucker.

Made2Obey -> RE: With Pence tainted too, will Ryan become president? (5/19/2017 1:38:49 PM)

Simple fact is that no US president has ever been convicted through impeachment procedures. The two who were impeached, Johnson and Clinton, were both acquitted. Even if Trump released classified information he cannot be convicted under the high crimes and misdemeanors standard since it is the president who is the ultimate arbitrator as to what is classified in the US. There is no basis for impeachment by that standard.

mnottertail -> RE: With Pence tainted too, will Ryan become president? (5/19/2017 1:40:05 PM)

thats not what they will have him on.

Lucylastic -> RE: With Pence tainted too, will Ryan become president? (5/19/2017 2:16:19 PM)

reality says its unlikely to lead to conviction, let alone impeachment, but its a nice thought.
reality also says corruption rules.

As I fuking said, and i am about to revert to a once a week or month appearance

McConnell -Nah! Christ on a bike - "One of my proudest moments was when I looked Barack Obama in the eye and I said, 'Mr. President, you will not fill the Supreme Court vacancy etc

In 2012, Tillerson's compensation package was $40.5 million.[37] It was $28.1 million in 2013, $33.1 million in 2014, and $27.2 million in 2015.[38] In late 2016, Tillerson held $54 million of Exxon stock, and had a right to deferred stock worth approximately $180 million over the next 10 years.[39]

On January 3, 2017, ExxonMobil announced they had reached an agreement with Tillerson "to sever all ties with the company to comply with conflict-of-interest requirements associated with his nomination as secretary of state."[40]

Tillerson has ties with President Vladimir Putin of Russia.[6] They have been associates since Tillerson represented Exxon's interests in Russia, the world's largest producer of crude oil, during President Boris Yeltsin's tenure.[27] John Hamre, the President and CEO of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, of which Tillerson is a board member, states that Tillerson "has had more interactive time with Vladimir Putin than probably any other American, with the exception of Dr. Henry Kissinger."[27]

What the fuk America!

Not that I think this is likely -- just playing with the speculation:

"Donald Trump’s disclosure of highly sensitive intelligence to the Russians and reported efforts to shut down the FBI’s investigation into former national security adviser Mike Flynn now shine a spotlight on the next person in line for the presidency. It should be withering, because Vice President Mike Pence (JD, Indiana — Robert H. McKinney School of Law, ’86) is not a solution to Trump. His consistent dishonesty is a central part of the problem America faces."

"As an attorney, Mike Pence has a special awareness that a public servant’s lies can undermine democracy. But such knowledge seems secondary to his political ambitions. When Trump was looking for a running mate, Pence faced the serious prospect of losing re-election as governor because of his extreme positions on social issues."

"Pence’s willingness to lie for Trump knows no bounds. That became even clearer with reports about his central role in the cover-up relating to the firing of FBI Director James Comey."

Just so long as Rush Limpdick can't, I don't particularly care which pseudo libertarian piece of shit they replace the current twat with.

Except that Ryan isn't stupid -- he's evil.

And Pence and the current mouthbreather aren't?
Republican and evil have gone together since the '70s, sadly.

And Cinton was a saint?
The 70's at the end of the Johnson/Humpry era.

Maybe it's those evil liberal values of mine, but I find the spectacle of a president lying about getting his cock sucked a lot less offensive than the spectacle of a president pumping money into his failing businesses by sticking the federal government (and by extension the tax payer) with inflated bills for his leisure pursuits and his trophy wife trying to avoid him.

I would say 2008 Obama.
Obviously it wasn't a landslide and there was opposition, but his campaign was still a relatively positive one with a quasi-socialist bent that a lot of people latched onto.

Of course, it didn't even begin to turn out that way, but it proved that a lot of Americans have an appetite for actual leftism and want what other developed western nations have.
Hillary was a step backwards from that, which made zero sense.

It wasn't so much that the left rejected her, just that she didn't give them enough of what they wanted... so they stayed home.
Low turnouts always favor Republican candidates.

WickedsDesire -> RE: With Pence tainted too, will Ryan become president? (5/20/2017 5:11:27 AM)

Sanders I actually liked - still do.

Anyone else run other than Sanders and Hillary someone? Naughty boy bill cost her a bit, as did trumps nonsense, and the Russians

There's an interesting adjusted table here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_presidential_elections_by_Electoral_College_margin#Table_of_election_results

In "modern" presidents, after Reagan would be Johnson, then FDR, then Eisenhower,
then Bush I, then Clinton, then Obama (67%).

Trump, on the other hand, is only the 5th US president to win without the popular vote:

In 1824, John Quincy Adams was elected president despite not winning either the popular vote or the electoral vote. Andrew Jackson was the winner in both categories. Jackson received 38,000 more popular votes than Adams, and beat him in the electoral vote 99 to 84. Despite his victories, Jackson didn’t reach the majority 131 votes needed in the Electoral College to be declared president. In fact, neither candidate did. The decision went to the House of Representatives, which voted Adams into the White House.

In 1876, Rutherford B. Hayes won the election (by a margin of one electoral vote), but he lost the popular vote by more than 250,000 ballots to Samuel J. Tilden.

In 1888, Benjamin Harrison received 233 electoral votes to Grover Cleveland’s 168, winning the presidency. But Harrison lost the popular vote by more than 90,000 votes.

In 2000, George W. Bush was declared the winner of the general election and became the 43rd president, but he didn’t win the popular vote either. Al Gore holds that distinction, garnering about 540,000 more votes than Bush. However, Bush won the electoral vote, 271 to 266.

In 2016, Donald Trump won the electoral vote by 304 to 227 over Hillary Clinton, but Trump lost the popular vote. Clinton received nearly 2.9 million more votes than Trump, according to an analysis by the Associated Press of the certified results in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

Lying under oath, a felony which got him disbarred, vs your opinion which even is correct isn't impeachable.

Your values are that you are still mad that he won the election so you will agree he should be impeached for oversleeping.

he will fall this year and soon, and by Comey - or Russia - same thing. He has already fallen get that into you head anyone still trying to enable him

Why do you care anyway bamad - do you like him, think he is doing a wonderful job? I am genuinely curious.

Your political system is fuked, and ours isn't that far behind yours - its teetering on the edge of tomorrow (is that star trek TOS?) so i do not think real change will come out of all of this and that is the greatest shame of all.

Them V us. I always found it strange how the privileged could enslave so many brains. I actually laughed at this In 2012, Tillerson's compensation package was $40.5 million.[37] It was $28.1 million in 2013, $33.1 million in 2014, and $27.2 million in 2015.[38] In late 2016, Tillerson held $54 million of Exxon stock, and had a right to deferred stock worth approximately $180 million over the next 10 years.[39]

How can anyone like that, a typical example, represent we the people of any nation

It is clear by now that you and the Dems will not be happy till the election is overturned.

Why would the election be overturned? Nobody is taking those results to the FEC, nor SCOTUS. There is no doubt at this point by anyone that Il Douchovitch the nutsucker was elected president, if he wasnt, he wouldnt be giving out secrets to the Russians in the Oval office.
