ORIGINAL: Kirata The University of Oxford twitter feed has issued an apology for a newsletter which described avoiding eye contact as potentially racist. The apology follows widespread criticism in the press and on social media. The tweet reads: ‘We are sorry that we took no account of other reasons for difference in eye contact and social interaction, including disability.’ But beyond your point, I find this part more troubling: ‘Some people who do these things may be entirely well-meaning, and would be mortified to realise that they had caused offence. But this is of little consequence... I mean seriously, really? K. Apparently it's not longer about your intent but rather someone else's interpretation of your intent that matters. It's always been about power. Identity politics keeps groups as victims. The sad thing is the whites have come very far in reducing racism. However, the identity politics, welfare pimps, won't let it go and keeps preaching to minorities that they are being hated. In my mind it time to start teaching them that nobody pays as much attention to race as they do. They create the micro-aggressions.
