I like the joke about Iran's "moderate" president - as if the mullahs will allow him any power

Your failing New York Slimes blog people act like they really believe, that anything about Iran's true leadership is 'moderate'

Despite your great example of the alt left cheerleading for radical Islam, President Trump is undoing some of the massive harm Obama caused

Who thinks that the ME is better off today, than it was eight years ago

In Saudi Arabia, Trump Reaches Out to Sunni Nations, at Iran’s Expense

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — As voters in Iran danced in the streets, celebrating the landslide re-election of a moderate as president, President Trump stood in front of a gathering of leaders from across the Muslim world and called on them to isolate a nation he said had “fueled the fires of sectarian conflict and terror.”

That nation was Iran.

In using the headline address of his first foreign trip as president to declare his commitment to Sunni Arab nations, Mr. Trump signaled a return to an American policy built on alliances with Arab autocrats, regardless of their human rights records or policies that sometimes undermine American interests.

After all the buddy/buddy talk, now, when he's being investigated, it's all about Sunni vs. Shia. Arabia vs. Iran.

Just one problem: Russia is Iran's ally and trading partner.

Oh, and the Sunni rebellion against the Shiite rulership in Syria has the US on one side, Russia on the other. Syria and Russia are also long-standing allies and trading partners.

What happened to deal making?

Flame for existing tensions, and more involvement in more conflict in the Middle East.

Is it all about the oil? We only get 11% of our oil from SA: we get three and half times that from Canada (without a pipeline).

Or is this another business deal at the expense of US taxpayers? And maybe, more US lives.

Iran's true leadership was remarkably moderate.
Unfortunately, the CIA deposed Iran's democratically elected true leader and replaced him with a Shah back in the '50s.

I keep wondering how long it will take for these weapons to end up in the hands of ISIS.
ISIS will definitely be Saudi's Sunni ally if the Iraq war spills into Shiite-majority Iran.

Not long, some percent is already earmarked for ISIS, some for anti-Iranian factions and so on. This is SA we are talking about. A great many Princes with a lot of money and all sorts of causes to play around in.

Saudi Arabia, the oil-rich kingdom touted by President Donald Trump as a key ally in the fight against the Islamic State, has helped block a Trump administration proposal to impose sanctions against a Saudi branch of the terrorist group, documents show.

The plan to add the Islamic State's Saudi affiliate to a U.N. list of terrorist groups was quietly killed two weeks ago in a bureaucratic maneuver at the U.N. Security Council, records show. U.S. officials familiar with the move said the Saudis objected to the public acknowledgment of the existence of a separate Saudi offshoot of the terrorist group inside the kingdom.

Anyhoos :)
