WickedsDesire -> Al Green Calls for Impeachment (5/25/2017 6:10:31 AM)

Democratic Representative Al Green has said he is pushing ahead with the process of impeaching President Donald Trump and is currently drawing up articles of impeachment.

The Texas congressman last week appeared on the floor of the House of Representatives to call for his colleagues to begin impeachment proceedings. The appeal came a day after revelations of a memo from former FBI Director James Comey claiming that Trump had asked him to drop an investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Green has since detailed racially charged threats he has received but insists he has not been dissuaded from the process. “We will move forward, and as a matter of fact, I am currently crafting, drafting if you will, articles of impeachment,” he told C-Span Tuesday.

Green did not say when he would file a privileged resolution for impeachment, which would have to be considered in the House within two days, but said he was working with constitutional lawyers. And, he added, he would be prepared to go at it alone if need be.

“At some point, we’ll wait to see what others will do, and if no one else does, the president has committed an impeachable act, and I will take it upon myself to do that,” he said.

Some Democrats have been far more cautious about jumping fully aboard the impeachment train. Yet others began openly using the impeachment word this month for the first time, following the fallout from Trump’s firing of Comey and admittance that he did so while thinking about the FBI’s investigation into possible collusion between his campaign and Russia.

i forgot to thread this last week as the orange corruption lurched from one blundering disaster, of his own making, to the next. I couldn't keep up honest! sniggers

To complicate matters I believe they need a simple majority in the House of representatives, It would then go to the senate where it would require 67/100

So, is he a marvel to behold, or a evil villain bewitched by the evil temptress Bill Hillary Someone and Handsome Obama.

Due to the fact that he is a Democrat, he should look down the order of succession and be careful what he wishes for.

According to a list compiled by CNN, 27 Democrats have so far come out in favor of impeaching Trump. What they don't provide is context. For 36 years, Democrats have routinely called for impeaching Republican presidents at the drop of a hat.

Here is a sampling:

On May 1, 1981, thousands of protesters marched in Washington to denounce President Reagan's economic and social policies. The event was billed as ''Days of Resistance to Roll Back Reaganism." (Sound familiar?) At the event, at least two speakers called for impeaching Reagan.

''Our purpose is to turn this country around,'' one said. ''Getting rid of Reagan is the first step.''

In early 1983, Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., said Reagan should be impeached "for incompetence." Later that year, he called for impeaching Reagan over his military action in Grenada.

Jesse Jackson wanted Reagan impeached in 1984 for mining Nicaragua's harbors. Texas Rep. Henry Gonzalez and six other Democrats introduced a resolution to impeach Reagan in 1987 over the Iran-Contra affair.

Gonzalez pushed to have President George H.W. Bush impeached in 1991 because of the Gulf War.

Reps. Dennis Kucinich and Robert Wexler introduced 35 articles of impeachment against President George W. Bush in 2004 that centered on the Iraq War, Hurricane Katrina, global warming and the 2004 elections.

Conyers filed a resolution in 2005 calling for Bush's impeachment, and was still publicly advocating it by 2007. And Kucinich kept pushing for impeachment into Bush's last months in office.

Yes, it's true that Republicans in the House actually did impeach President Clinton. But that effort came only after Clinton had clearly committed perjury, not as a way to express policy differences.

So the mere fact that liberal Democrats are talking up impeachment now isn't even newsworthy.

Heck, Rep. Maxine Waters — who is currently making a big stink about impeaching Trump — first called for his impeachment before Trump was inaugurated. Rep. Alan Grayson was talking up Trump's impeachment before he'd even secured the Republican nomination.

What is newsworthy, however, is the fact that some Democrats outside the Beltway — as well as some inside the Beltway — are urging their colleagues to get a grip.

In an interview with Politico that aired online this week, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel warned that the party's monomaniacal focus on the president wasn't doing anything to make Democrats more appealing to voters who cast ballots for Trump last November.

"We don't talk about and fight for the middle class like we are," he said. "We believe we're for them, but they don't — if they don't hear we're for them, then we got a problem."

Politico's Edward-Isaac Dovere said Emanuel "thinks everyone in Washington is too focused on the crazy around Trump to see what's actually going on — and what's not."

Democratic leaders in the House and Senate are also at least tepidly warning their colleagues against impeachment talk. "What are the facts that you would make a case on?" Nancy Pelosi said. "If you don't have that case, you're just participating in hearsay."

California Rep. Adam Schiff said that Democrats' calls for impeachment now could "be perceived as an effort to nullify the election by other means."

WickedsDesire -> RE: Al Green Calls for Impeachment (5/25/2017 7:30:47 AM)

Ah boscox has anyone got to this stage as speedily a Trumpy Gonzalos .

Allow me to correct your article - the only reasons some democrats in the Senate haven't been calling for it
1. For political gain in the Primaries 2018, And yet there is no guarantee there will be a political tsunami so this seems a dangerous stratagem for me.
2. Hysterical leftists, cabal, them, hysterical leftists, Hillary someone, handsome Obama, the conspiracy, the witch hunt have it in for him and its a plot Coup d'état, You could further argue it was a very shrewd move not to appoint a special prosecutor and also why the Senate Intelligence Committee ( Or a new one) is not bipartisan.

Anyway why do you care he is a pathological liar just get rid if him and stick the right wing nutter Tuppence in - better that than Exxon and Tillerson's $200 million from them. All he has done so far is wrecking America great

I think I saw my first "Impeach Obama" bumper sticker on Jan 21, 2009.

I have said several times that if Mr. Trump is impeached, it will be the Republicans who will do so and enough Democrats will go along for the ride so they can be blamed later if things go to shit.

Anyone can have anything printed on a bumper sticker

How about members of congress calling for Obama's impeachment before he was nominated

Got anything like that

What, like people insisting that Obama wasn't born in the 'States and so couldn't be sworn in as president?
Like morons insisting that wasn't really the president at any point during his first term because he'd fluffed one of his lines while being sworn in?
Yeah, there was nothing like that aimed at Obama...

Lucylastic -> RE: Al Green Calls for Impeachment (5/25/2017 8:13:18 AM)

You never had a candidate or president like him...[:'(]palin would be preferable[:'(]
There is zero comparison to anyone.

Sorry nutsuckers slobberblogs notwithstanding neither have done that.

I know you been out here and its been rough for you guzzling all the putinjizz, but you got to get a better job than compound gimp. You are too old, fat and retarded to do that anymore.

WickedsDesire -> RE: Al Green Calls for Impeachment (5/25/2017 8:16:44 AM)

A glass of Flint tap water should just about do it.

WickedsDesire -> RE: Al Green Calls for Impeachment (5/25/2017 8:27:06 AM)

Actually I looked into that before monkeynuts got elected and there seems to be a fuzzy clause if the draft dodger was an officer or something -civil officer. So I think anyone pretty much any one can. Although it will depend on how they define a civil officer

Any way they have enough on high crimes, misdemeanours and piracy on the high seas.

I was thinking more of one of the other Al Green's soul classics, to be honest.
(Though in that case he's going to the river to be baptised, rather than held under the surface until he stops breathing, so I suppose it isn't quite appropriate...)

If I am ever elected President, I am will allocate funds to help these feces eating, fecal incontinent, testicle-sucking, semen drinking people to which a frequent poster here often refers. (There breath must be horrible!)

I would like to return these people back to normal society. It sounds like they should be in mental institutions for now.
