I can't believe that voice is gone. Love this band.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Gregg Allman dead (5/27/2017 3:31:31 PM)

I always loved to kick back with a few and listen to Mountain Jam.

I've been listening to them all day. Come and go blues.

I hear you, one of my favorites as well. I have Eat a Peach playing

Some local musician friends have been posting today about the times they played with him back in the 70's and how wonderful he always was to them. There will never be another like him that's for sure.

I am not a big fan of Southern Rock, but I respect what it represents.
I always loved the song "Midnight Rider".

RIP to Gregg Allman, the Midnight Rider.

It`s a...bummer.

Although, he lived way longer than he and others probably thought he was going to back in the...*days*.

He wrote a few classics...come now, who can`t relate a little to *The Whipping Post*...

The early Allman Bros. were a good bit before commercialized FM radio glommed what was theretofore good on alternative radio and came up with such terms as 'Southern Rock.' And with their first few albums, AB were not exactly in the spirit of what that became, musically or otherwise.

But here we are anyway from the 1970 second album Idlewild South:

Revival

It sucks for sure. Sad loss of a talented guy.
