He ain't gonna hurt the woman who is the mom of his daugther's BFF.

One wonders why the political comments of comedians are treated with so much more gravitas than those of politicians in the US ... ? One easy explanation is that US politics is itself a comedy. This explanation seems to have gained ground with the advent of the orange disaster presiding over a truly comic Administration that looks talks and acts in utterly comic ways. Another explanation that springs to mind is that the comments of US politicians are so devoid of intelligent content that comedians' comments appear by comparison to be incisive and profound, straight from the fount of intelligence ... No doubt there are many other explanations for this phenomenon which is as far as I can tell, unique to the US. But, whatever the reason, it does appear that some people in the US are taking some jokes, and some jokers, far too seriously
