Multiple choice and nooooo cheating. Which two countries did not sign the Paris Accord?

1. Syria - I wonder why - Apparently Syria has been embroiled in a civil war for six years, leaving 300,000 dead, so it is perhaps understandable that it did not participate in talks.

2. Nicaragua - I only found out today why and here is the why:

Nicaragua's reason for refusing the deal, though, is not because it wanted to burn more fossil fuels, but because the agreement did not go far enough.
The country already gets more than half of its energy from renewable resources, and plans to bump that up to 90% by 2020.

A 2013 World Bank report labelled it "a renewable energy paradise", with extensive opportunity for geothermic, wind, solar and wave energy.

When the Paris deal was being negotiated, Nicaragua said there was a total mismatch between what the document said was needed to protect the climate, and what signatories proposed to do about it. They are absolutely correct

3. America technically withdraws as Trumps executive decision cancels out handsome Obama executive decision Although he words it they withdrew - but they cant get it up seems far more plausible.

What surprised me about 3 is none of the two put it to a House Rep then senate vote if it passed.

The thing with the paris Accord it is basciall just an accord in that we will do better. We will encourage those developing to do better. Thats it. Thats all it was.

of course many countries are forging ahead with their own plans - and thats a good thing.

Round of applause to Nicaragua though population 6 million, greater than Scotland and for arguments sake an average state size.

And for you right wing nutters (~30% Americans by population) - no one cares you left. We are simply curious as to what new depths of depravity you can sink too and you surprises us week in week out.

Nations lead.
Leading Nations Lead.
Leading Nations do not go backwards and year for the indutrail revolution, stone age etc
World Leader Lead (fucked on that arnt you)

etc but I am only scoring Nicaraguan at 100% ( I know)

There's about six different candidates for the leadership of Syria at the moment, most of whom (including Assad) are jihadists. None of them have any industry, though some of them are buying munitions from polluters (the rest are killing their opponents sneakily and stealing their munitions).
Not entirely surprised the accord can't be arsed with them: Somalia weren't invited to join either.

Crossed my mind too that *smiles - Assad had a chance to claim sovereignty :P

I did avoid how many countries in the world are there ;) 196 apparently i am am sure the hogmany quiz answer was 200ish - I think I said 305ish.

But that map seems to account for 194? And do they count UK as one country or 4?

I also got which country has the longest land border wrong... was a little drunk so i either went for Russia or America (if you include Alaska) not that it mattered as both were wrong.

China - who knew https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_and_territories_by_land_borders
