Feminist bigots make men's life harder every day. Feminists should be banned, not manspreading.

They can take away my manspreading but if I want lots of space on public transportation, all I have to do is make sure I have plenty of Budweiser and Mexican food the night before.

I think I speak for all the men here in saying that we won't be sleeping tonight due to worrying about this issue of anti-manspreading laws in Madrid. However, it does none of us any good to go around blithely ignorant of the reality of the horrors of today's world, so thank you for bringing it to our attention.

It's OK. I have a car.

If I visit Madrid, I'll rent one there.

I've always recognised you as a man who can find a smart and efficient way through the thorniest problems of the contemporary world, MM.

"Manspreading" is simply a comfort issue, not a display of misogyny. Men have differently shaped hips and simply don't sit as comfortably with knees together as women can. There is no anti-feminist grand design in that. (Unless you believe a greater being designed men that way simply to inconvenience inferior women. Which is a pretty crazy notion.) Just last week I was unexpectedly required to travel by bus for a good many hours. For the most part men chose to sit beside men, and women beside women, so it wasn't much of an issue really. However, when it came to taking up space the women aboard were certainly the champions with huge, multiple, carry on bags and purses. Many of the women also carried blankets and pillows, and were totally nesting and taking up as much space as they could lay claim to. By comparison most of the men carried smallish backpacks that either went in the overhead rack, or fit comfortably below their knees. If manspreading is to be prohibited, then so should female nesting, which uses up a far greater amount of available space.

However, personally I don't see this as a problem. I'll simply stop bathing and no woman will sit close enough to me to care about how wide apart my knees happen to be. 😊

I must admit, I've often wondered if the real issue is to do with men's and women's differently-shaped hips. I don't deliberately spread my legs when sitting down - they feel like they end up that way naturally and are just more comfortable that way. But of course I make an effort not to encroach on the leg-space of someone sitting next to me. I like to think I'm civilised and considerate and stuff.

The thing is that women are no better mannered than men. Women can be inconsiderate with handbags and prams.

If we were to single women out in having bad manners while leaving men in the clear, it would be considered an attack on women and misogyny of course.

It's no better than singling out blacks or muslims for rude behaviour on public transport.

The theory of manspreading is simply sexist and hateful.

Drink Budweiser and eat at Taco Bell then. Problem solved.
