ORIGINAL: BamaD If you knew half as much about this as you seem to think you do you would know that to get to VA they would have to commit a crime by driving through DC to get there so DC prevented them from getting there with a firearm. To be perfectly honest, didn't really look too much into this topic. Gunlaws in DC and all. Did a campaign in DC once, that's how I know a lil bout the strict gun laws in the capitol, and Yowza, was I glad they were strict. Those areas just outside capitol hill are ghetto as fuck...and I'm from san bernaghetto county, home of meth and corruption. Heard some'n bout the shooting on the radio just a moment ago and decided to do a quick google Two of the injured parties were on security detail I'm guessing they were armed....I mean, security detail for the majority whip on duty,I'm assuming they're packing, probably just a 9mm glocks, but packing AND TRAINED...that means there probably was an armed counter attack on this dumb fuck, and that being the case,a congressman still took at least one bullet right through his pelvis(Ouch).Just a few inches north and that woulda gone septic instantly... quote:
ORIGINAL: BamaD As already pointed out lacking a gun he could have done as much damage with a car. Yeah,no shit huh Just looked it up,and this fat fuck was just on the other side of the dug out behind third base, and congressmen Scalise was just across the field, leaving practice,at the exit behind first. Holy fuck, even as a lil kid,I've thrown baseball bats more accurately then this fucker could squeeze off a bullet, and I was no athlete as a kid.Guess he either had last second hesitation or was shoot'n off way too high cause the sights were set for actual distance....like more then a few yards. Amazing the amount of documentation of a shooting involving a congressman vs any other shooting Then again, base ball fields, those are pretty damn uniformly designed and describable So it looks like There Was a few trained good guys with gun's at this one might have made the difference between life and death, and of course there is still much to be said about some fellow with plenty of questionable warning signs that the press has managed to dredge up in...how many hours since the incident......being able to legally buy firearms ... recently ..... but still,my underlying question remains, Will Scalise see gun rights in the same light now? more of a rhetorical question,we can only wait and see how he actually acts after this. But I would like to discuss our baseless and inaccurate predictions Yes the security people were armed. Most feds carry .40 cals ever since the Miami shootout in the 80s. Right, good guys with guns stopped a bad guy with a gun. He got the gun in Illinois where they didn't enforce the law.. As you say, you don't understand gun control issues. This is not about guns. It is about an unstable person and bad enforcement of the law. It is his fault and no one elses . I gave you the precident on chaging because of an incident like this and they didn't, nobody expected Gifford to change her position and she didn't Wallace didn't change, Reagan didn't change. History says there will be no change, that is the way all precident goes, but of course you think that means that my belief is as unfounded as yours.
