irishbynature -> That song that's always had your name on it! (7/27/2006 6:48:12 AM)

Just for fun...you know that 'one' song that has always stayed with you because it perfectly describes you or it just seems as if was writer must be just like you?
Post yours! And, add the link so we can see the song lyrics!

Mine has always been, "I'm That Kinda Girl" by Patti Loveless and the line, "I'm not the woman in red, I'm not the girl next store, but ...if something in the middle's what you're looking for...I'm that kinda girl."[;)]

For me it is "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd and the line that is me is:

"We are two lost souls swimmin in a fish bowl.....Year after Year..running over the same ole ground.......have we found the same ole fears........How I wish you were here"..........

Cannot add the link as Floyd does not permit their lyrics to be on the internet

What a fun idea irishbynature, mine would have to be George Thoroughgood's ~~ Bad to the Bone. Not only do I love it but, the Bro's throw it on when I pop in for a game of pool or a visit so I guessd other's think it suits me as well. I had to laugh the other day, I went to a coffee shop opening (my "adult childrens" friends went together in the venture) and when the cheeky buggers saw me coming in they put it in the house system. BRATS *lol*

I have a couple - couldnt choose just one.
The first is kim richey - a place called home.
My lines would be -
Well it seems like so long ago
But it really ain't you know
I started off a crazy kid
Miracle I made it though
The things I did
The things I did

The second one is the divinyls - i touch myself.
My lines would be -
I love myself i want you to love me
When i feel down i want you above me
I search myself i want you to find me
I forget myself i want you to remind me

I'm Still Standing - Elton John : this is my theme song

Iris - Goo Goo Dolls : Just expresses so much about me in general.

I Wish It Would Rain - Phil Collins : Again, it captures a great deal of my feelings.

Come Talk To Me - Peter Gabriel : A song that was so important to me for my kids through my divorce.

Inside Out - Phil Collins : Another one for me through my divorce

Truckin' by The Grateful Dead: "sometimes the lights all shining on me - other times I can barely see - lately it occurs to me - what a long strange trip it's been!"

Soluble by 7 Seconds of Love, definitely. They really encapsulated all of my feelings, memories, and experiences into that song. Particularly this part:

I'm glad that I'm not soluble, that would be quite bad
I'm glad that I'm not soluble, that would make me sad
(So sad...)

I'd probably lose all my friends, for they would point and laugh
At how I was quite terrified of going near a bath...
I'd hate find I'm soluble, I'd effervesce and bubble
If accidentally one day I stepped into a puddle...

I get shivers every time I hear it... I mean... That's me, y'know?

i am not sure it sums me up but it sure sums up how i see things...

No New Tale to TellYou cannot go against nature
Because when you do
Go against nature
It's part of nature too

Our little lives get complicated
It's a simple thing
Simple as a flower
And that's a complicated thing

No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell

AHHHH

My world is your world
People like to hear their names
I'm no exception
Please call my name
Call my name

No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell

AHHHH

When you're down
It's a long way up
When you're up
It's a long way down

It's all the same thing
No new tale to tell

No new tale to tell

Unwritten

I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines

We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live
that way

Drench yourself in words unspoken

Live your life with arms wide open

Today is where your book begins

The rest is still unwritten

Mine is Bring me to life.........Evanesce
when i heard the lyrics to this i swore it was meant for me
EVANESCENCE LYRICS

"Bring Me To Life"
(feat. Paul McCoy)

how can you see into my eyes like open doors
leading you down into my core
where I’ve become so numb without a soul my spirit sleeping somewhere cold
until you find it there and lead it back home

(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside
(I can’t wake up)
Wake me up inside
(Save me)
call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up)
bid my blood to run
(I can’t wake up)
before I come undone
(Save me)
save me from the nothing I’ve become

now that I know what I’m without
you can't just leave me
breathe into me and make me real
bring me to life

(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside
(I can’t wake up)
Wake me up inside
(Save me)
call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up)
bid my blood to run
(I can’t wake up)
before I come undone
(Save me)
save me from the nothing I’ve become

Bring me to life
(I've been living a lie, there's nothing inside)
Bring me to life

frozen inside without your touch without your love darling only you are the life among the dead

all this time I can't believe I couldn't see
kept in the dark but you were there in front of me
I’ve been sleeping a thousand years it seems
got to open my eyes to everything
without a thought without a voice without a soul
don't let me die here
there must be something more
bring me to life

(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside
(I can’t wake up)
Wake me up inside
(Save me)
call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up)
bid my blood to run
(I can’t wake up)
before I come undone
(Save me)
save me from the nothing I’ve become

(Bring me to life)
I’ve been living a lie, there’s nothing inside
(Bring me to life)

Enya is good but her sister, Maire Brennan one of the members of Clannad is so much better in my opinion.
I've been to their father's pub up in Crowly,Donegal "Leo's".
Hmmm, I've always liked "The Summer Wind" by Frank Sinatra .

Mine is Unwell by Matchbox 20

I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know, right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know, right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be
Me

Reminds me Im an not a perfect person....but in the long run...I am still me and I count still

This has to be one of my all time favorites.  There is just something about it... I can't even explain.  Any time it's on though..everything gets silent..and I just soak it in.....and float away.

this question been bugging me...i live my life by music and the moods it creates and expresses....and i am from the "say anything" generation where we play our music instead of talking.....so i have cds of music that i have made that fit who i am...but one song?  i don't have...so will go with this mood for now...its called "pills for sara" by Winter Pills  its a bit absract, but has a great sound....

Vials of bright forgetting powders
Reds and yellows, sweets and sours,
Curled around a scented pillow
Biting hard and crushing flowers
I went down to sugartown
To try and get some pills for Sara,
They said her prescription’s over
there’ll be no refills for Sara
She’s in pain
And I’m her main man
Down to 7th, down to A street,
I made all the rounds for Sara,
Vicodin and oxycontin
My love knows no bounds for Sara
My man gave me something tasty
Vials of bright forgetting powders
Biting hard and crushing flowers
Sleeping through my superpowers
Hours of sleeping, hours of searching
Dreaming that she’d found a way out
She was always so impatient
She would never wait the day out
I went down to sugartown
To try and find some pills for Sara,
They said her prescription’s over
There’ll be no refills for Sara
She’s in pain
And I’m her main man
Vials of bright forgetting powders
Reds and yellows, sweets and sours,
Curled around a scented pillow
Biting hard and crushing flowers

cheshire
"if life was a song, then i'm the melody"
