It was over 5 years ago that the CEO of GM stated publicly that 7 out of 10 Chevys were now made in China. Shoot, if you want an American assembled car; Nissan and Toyota build more cars in the U.S. than GM these days.

My take on GM trucks is that they have wonderful body styling and advertising campaigns. But, when I was looking for a new truck; a test drive of several GM made trucks all hat a disturbing common thing. The thing that bugged me and caused me to reject purchasing GM was pieces of the dashboard falling off when hitting bumps on a test drive. Nothing says poor quality control like having a button off of the steering wheel fall into your lap when hitting a small pothole.

I ended up getting a Dodge Ram with a Cummins diesel... no regret at all.

Yeah, I've been a steady Toyota customer since 1993, and ex-GM customer.

I'm not cherry picking anything. The fact that we've lost jobs since the 80's or that they're being affected by technology isn't exactly new information. I was simply pointing out that despite your anger over Ford moving jobs to China, we're actually getting other jobs back from them. And more from them than any other country it seems. I thought you might appreciate some good news even if it isn't great. But apparently that isn't actually what's important to you regardless of your posts. Well the US does not make policy to serve all of working society as do our competitors and Trump is just the latest iteration and blowhard to run his mouth to the contrary...trying to blame other and much more meaningless factors while he's at it.

Not to mention trying to take credit for corporate policies of positive changes already in place before he was elected and blaming any downside on his predecessor.
