It speaks to a level of insecurity in Trump's personality. He's known along there were no 'tapes' [sic] of his conversations, he just felt a visceral need...to stir the pot. An almost juvenile attempt to get the attention away from what damage Comey did.

Why say anything at all about tapes BoscoX? These are not the actions of a grown up... certainly not Presidential. Their has never been a politician that I agree with on all issues and I don't expect there to be. I find it unusual that you defend every action of Trump. To me this says you are just here to troll rather than serious discussion of issues. But I like you here... there is a need for a provocateur and you certainly fill that position. I would be better however, if now and then you enter into a discussion with the purpose of changing minds with logic instead of senseless hyperbole. Butch

It wasn't trolling, it wasn't masterful manipulation... it was a stupid lie that he told because he didn't know what else to do. He had no concept of how it would make him look, how others would react, or what it would lead to... he just said it because he doesn't think anything through. This is why he looked stupid when Comey said he hoped that it was true, and he looks even stupider now that his lie has been exposed. His masterful plan was to look like a bad liar who couldn't stop humiliating himself? Wow.
