Here's a thought:

On the upper right, change the words for the "red" to "green" scale to read "Higher standard of living" at the red end and "Lower standard of living" at the green end.

Voila! The map is still correct.

Wonder why that is?

Point--it's simply not true we can't afford things. We can afford a HUGE military, for example. The better question would be (a) which things do we want because they are worth it and (b) how much are we willing to pay for the things we think are worth it.

THAT would be a honest discussion. Instead--smoke and mirrors, with dishonest politicians hoping that growth will magically tide them over, while moronic voters keep rubber stamping their idiotic structural deficit.

That aside questions:
1. 9 senators stand against? (now are they all "mod-right" or are there are a few "right right" wing nutters in that total?
2. So is there 51 Republicans ,48 democrats, and 1 Rep speaker?
3. What happens if the vote is 50-50?
4. 12 % of all Americans favour the Republican plan?
5. 22 million will become un-insured within the next decade?

Funny stuff...you reacted to a few posts of mine some ways back...respectfully...and we (then) held some rational (respectful) conversations....not always in agreement...but...we heard each other.

What I found MOST amazing was...as you and I held respectful conversations...others joined in and said..."yeah....sure...but for...maybe...I don't think so...you're wrong (that was mostly against you...I think they mostly thought I was right most of the time...(you...maybe...possibly...on rare occasions)...regardless....it was respectful.

And you know what...we didn't have any of that "YOU PHOQING IDIOT" Boscoe shit....it was just a great conversation.

(I swear...I do not fucking get that guy).
