Anti-Trump Leak Campaign Damaging U.S. and Allied Operations

U.S. official: Leaks of classified info by former Obama officials endanger American security operations

A new wave of leaks targeting the Trump administration has actively endangered ongoing intelligence and military operations being conducted by the United States and its allies, sparking anger and concern inside and outside the White House, according to multiple conversations with senior U.S. officials intimately familiar with the situation.

The classified leaks, which are being handed to sympathetic journalists by former Obama administration officials who left the government and by holdovers still serving in the Trump administration, have damaged a number of ongoing operations, ranging from American efforts to prevent Russian infiltration of the United States to Israeli efforts against ISIS, sources said.

A recent Washington Post story disclosed classified secrets as part of a larger story about Obama administration cyber efforts against Russia. It was published days after a New York Times story, which revealed details of a secret Israeli cyber operation that Trump is said to have leaked to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

The sensitivity of the material being leaked has heightened criticism both of the former Obama officials who are suspected of unveiling these secrets and of the Trump administration for its seeming inability to stem the disclosures, according to these officials.

Anger is running so high that multiple current U.S. officials have named some of the former Obama officials they believe are behind the unauthorized disclosures, which Trump officials say are aimed at kneecapping the current administration and also rewriting the record of the Obama years.

"They [former Obama officials] offer ridiculous explanations about why Obama couldn't act more forcefully, and then they apparently leak even more information about certain U.S. measures they claim have been taken against Russia," said one senior U.S. official who deals closely with the matter. "The publication of this information, if it's true, could do some damage to our national security, but the sources don't seem to mind doing that if it helps advance their political narrative."

The sources leaking this information appear to be the same former Obama administration allies and holdovers behind a months-long series of damaging leaks.

"The sources for this [Post] article are obviously the same Obama holdovers who constantly leak classified information to the Washington Post," said the source, who would only discuss the matter under condition of anonymity. "They went back to the those same reporters and tried to rewrite history so it doesn't look like Obama was weak on Russia, which of course he was."

Fake nutsucker news, by sources not even noted anonymously.

The leaky mingeboxes have been found in every case at the white house.

So a right wing rag says Trump's administration is a train wreck because Obama.

That's lame even for these weasels.

Obama fucked up, But....the intelligence was public, I know Ive posted it since november, several times. He also kicked out the russians, and two compounds in MD and NY, he didnt go far enough, but it hasn't been a surprise that trumps base have denied it consistently since november....
Now its all obamas fault, but not trumps, trump is new, unversed in the protocols?

He didnt need his daily briefings, I seem to remember,
Now I can understand, if he and hillary were getting different levels of security briefings, why he would be a tad peeved, even cross

But he has known for SURE since january 20, and all he can come up with is to blame Obama
Is he a man? can he accept any blame?

The Russians meet trump in the Shite House - all USA and world press barred, save the Russian press

Strangely absent from this thread arnt you treason weasel?

How is calling a cyber attack from a Russian dictator not treason anyway?

MrRodgers -> RE: Anti-Trump Leak Campaign Damaging U.S. and Allied Operations (6/26/2017 4:16:17 PM)

You don't understand kinkroids, if Trump or his officials leak its perfectly ok or fake news, but if Obama's ex or holdover officials do it...it's a real danger to national security.

When will the people learn this stuff ?

I mean can't you tell ? When the Russians did shit last year, Obama was blamed for lax security and [he] closes two compounds and kicks I think...35 Ruskies out of the country.

When Trump reveals shit himself and otherwise has people meeting with Ruskies, it's a witch hunt, fake news, didn't happen and no national security is compromised. And Trump does nothing. Understand now ?

Good thing there is no cold war. If there was and there was any real chance of any serious damage, with Trump in the white house...we'd be fucked.

Try again.

Learning is hard for some.

Just went to the Washington Post and pick the very first story, upper left hand corner:

CBO: Senate health bill would leave 22 million more people uninsured by 2026
The measure would lower federal spending by $321 billion over the decade, the Congressional Budget Office projects, compared with $119 billion in the House’s version. The analysis has been awaited as a crucial piece of evidence as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other GOP leaders try to hurry a vote on the bill.

But the report seemed to worsen the bill’s prospects, as at least three wavering members of the GOP caucus, including Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, said they would vote against starting debate on the legislation on Tuesday.

Look at that. Named sources.

Well if it wasn't the topic, and you didn't want to discuss it, why bring it up?

Just an answer to your post.

You keep whining about the topic becoming you. YOU are a fucking troll hypocrite.
How's that for a topic?[:D]

heavyblinker -> RE: Anti-Trump Leak Campaign Damaging U.S. and Allied Operations (6/27/2017 12:24:29 AM)

LOL... no, they are damaging Trump personally, which is good, because he's a fucking disgrace.

I guess Trump's PR people are referring to when he gave Russia classified intelligence shared by Israel and all of the stuff about his campaign colluding with Russia, right?
Any proof they're from Obama's people?

So far, the only person they've caught is Reality Winner, who was a Bernie supporter... and the leak about his sharing Israeli intelligence with Russia couldn't have come from anyone who wasn't very very close to Trump.

I think it's hilarious that you keep falling for this 'it's Obama officials' BS when it is glaringly obvious that Trump's incompetence and general shittiness as a human being has created an atmosphere where his own people are trying to sabotage him.

Musicmystery -> RE: Anti-Trump Leak Campaign Damaging U.S. and Allied Operations (6/27/2017 5:03:49 AM)

We're a LONG way from Truman's "the buck stops here."

Trump: "It's everyone else's fault. I'd better tweet. So sad."

The first is a leader taking responsibility and demonstrating leadership.

The second is a child playing the victim and denying responsibility, abdicating leadership.

He should abdicate the presidency too. He's an embarrassment, a disgrace, and a danger.

Straw man, ad hominem, no real facts or issues

Per usual from you

Musicmystery -> RE: Anti-Trump Leak Campaign Damaging U.S. and Allied Operations (6/27/2017 5:29:01 AM)

The issue is leadership. The "real facts" are taken from their own statements and actions.

What's usual is you labeling "straw man" and "ad hominem" whatever you don't like. Sorry--not how reality works.

Worst president ever -- and there were a few very bad ones in our history.

Obama was the worst affirmative action experiment president ever. The one time he managed gained a little bit of experience in the private sector he said that he felt he "was behind enemy lines"

We voted, you lost. President Trump is "the leadership" now

Quit being such a trollish loser child and deal with it like a man

Musicmystery -> RE: Anti-Trump Leak Campaign Damaging U.S. and Allied Operations (6/27/2017 11:05:40 AM)

So when is he going to stop whining and start leading?

We didn't elect him to whine. Or Tweet.

Or refill the swamp he promised to drain.

In the meantime, I'll deal with it like a concerned citizen.

It's what men do, since you clearly didn't know.
