Scientists dismiss idea that menstrual cycle affects the way a woman thinks

I kept saying I needed to put a sign on the door saying enter at your own risk when my daughter was in puberty and I was in perimenopause.

Btw, hormones at these life passages are responsible for the surge in mood disorders and the huge rise in suicide rates.

But what do I know, I only had to seek treatment from a psychiatrist who studied genetic disorders.

Obviously RM can quote from. Research by psychiatrists and neurologists who have studied this? Funny how the tops people in the field have conclusions the exact opposite of the tripe he spouts.

And wouldn't it get nice if post-partum depression was 'proved' not to exist either. I'd have loved to skip crying every day for hours uncontrollably.

I wonder how any man has gotton thru life without being in contact with a woman for a long enough period of time to know that yes, things change.
But knowing and understanding why, ((and not simply put it down to "crazy", "cunt", "bitch", grumblings and condescending mansplaining)) is obviously, too much effort for some.

ps.. Motion to rename "mansplaining" to "correctile dysfunction"

Anecdotal evidence does not beat scientific evidence, dumbasses.

Take responsibility like an adult and shut your sooky asses up.

Take responsibility like an adult and stop blaming women for all your problems

Rm, a word in your ear:

If you want to claim a scientific basis for your views, then use a proper scientific source - not the Daily Mail, which has the worst reputation for publishing BS among the UK tabloids, which themselves are probably in the Breitbart/InfoWars class for publishing BS. Without reputable independent confirmation, nothing in the Daily Mail is credible and wise people double check the date in the Daily Mail before believing it.

If you want to lecture other people about taking responsibility "like an adult" then the place to start is with yourself. Stop blaming women and feminists for all your problems. If your posts are anything to go by then almost all your problems are self inflicted.

I am very thankful that Awareness not only understands (better than I) how my cycle affects how I think, but he is proactive in helping me find ways to combat the ups and downs. In fact, for many years, I dismissed the emotional turbulence as an actual thing. I was on birth control pills for a good part of my adult life. My moods were just fine, thanks. Then, when I no longer used them, I started to experience what I had heard so much about. And yes, I can assure you, that my thinking is affected during the week leading up. Everything is more bleak, I get all mid-life crisis-y, and I usually want to quit my job and start a food blog, travel across the States in an RV, or take a poetry class....but I also start cleaning more. (Thank God. At least my house gets a good run-through at least once a month.)

There is good and bad to the man in my life being so aware of what's happening with my moods. The good: It's not an insult at all when he reminds me that I'm feeling a certain way due to my cycle. It feels comforting that he understands. The bad: I'm not allowed to bring up the possibility of any major (or minor) changes in our lives until after that time is over. He shuts me down pretty quickly.

I love these differences between men and women.

I hope you understand that many of us appreciate the differences between men and women (I certainly do), but there are many of us in abound, and we appreciate these differences in our various and individual ways.

You are most welcome, sir.

I had the good experience of seeing Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks on two occasions in live performance.

Lucky me.

Professor Brigitte Leeners and her team examined three aspects of mental abilities over two menstrual cycles.

They concluded that the levels of the hormones oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone had no impact on working memory, which is the ability to remember facts while completing a task.

Nor did it have any effect on cognitive bias, the likelihood that thinking would be skewed one way or another. And women were just as able to pay attention to two things at once, the researchers found.

The authors said none of the hormones had any replicable, consistent effect on thinking.

That's the article I read
I think I am too scared to ask you what you read

heh John travolta was in that one guffaws

You may be able to learn to do that yourself.. I figured out that when i would get moody, emotional, overly sentimental, get angry very fast or for little reason that it was pms.. when I felt like that i would go look at the calendar and yup, it was the hormones/pms trying to fuck with me!.. for me, that gave me control over the hormones cuz I would say "oh, thats why" and "this isnt me" and learn to push those feelings down/away.. Just knowing it was pms calmed me & allowed me to control it, rather than it control me.. I dont like anything to control me, not booze, not drugs, etc so I wasnt gonna let a few sneeky hormones do that to me (even temporarily).. Imo, anyone can learn to do that, it does take time, patience and persistence tho..
