Trump Shakes Hands With Putin

President Trump previewed his heavily anticipated Friday showdown with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin with a series of early morning tweets, promising to "represent our country well" and ambiguously adding the two larger-than-life leaders had "much to discuss." will read those later

I've been shaking my head at the relentless reference to "felchgobbling" here.

But this? FFS. Flat out felchgobbling:

As we get a look at President Trump with Russian President Vladimir Putin there wasn't even a hint of trouble. No mention of election meddling and not much tension to detect. In fact it seemed quote the opposite as Trump said:

"President Putin and I have been discussing various things. I think it's going very well. We have had very, very good talks. We are going to have a talk now and obviously that will continue. We look forward to a lot of positive things happening between Russia and the United States and for everybody concerned. It's an honor to be with you."

We aren't sure why the President would be honored to meet with a man who may have taken part in hacking a US election and as our Dan Rather said this AM:

"The first thing President Trump did when meeting Russia’s Putin in a social gathering in Germany today was shake his hand warmly, then pat him fondly on the back. There it was and remains for the world to see.
All indications are that Putin helped orchestrate an attack on the sovereignty of the United States during the last U.S. election and has made similar moves in other Western counties, seeking to undermine confidence and stability in democratic institutions and ideals. Now he gets a pat on the back from the leader of the free world. It was a disturbing if not sickening display."
