ORIGINAL: marieToo General Reply: I really do tire of all the grammar snobs. Ive said it before and it bears repeating... Someone who happens to spell a little better than the average Joe, really has no high horse to ride in on. A real English scholar would shred us all to ribbons. Get over yourself and find another claim to fame. That's a pretty nasty way to go. Lost our sence of humour have we? What positive thing have you done to day if I may ask???? At least the OP was being positive and had a great concept. Envious are we?? Yes of course you can ask what Ive done positive today. Im an open book. Ive cared for my child, made a living, helped a neighbor, and taken care of my home. I think I will be able to sleep tonight. No, Im not envious at all. Im just a person with a feeling about the content of the OP. Again let me state that it gets tiresome after while to see people who really havent a clue that they aren't experts at something, trying to BE an expert, especially with the grammar thing. It seems to be rampant around here. When a person opens up a thread asking for opinions, they have to expect that some negative opinions might get thrown in the mix as well. This doesn't make me envious or negative, or a bad person in general, its just my feeling on this particular subject. Ahh well there are those who enjoy threads for what they are and have fun with them, and there are those who love nothing better than to pick holes in other people's work, Actually the OP was the first to pick holes in others peoples' work...starting with their profiles. And it struck me about the same way that my picking holes in another, is striking you. belittle then with poison pen comments or even just plant vitriol and misery in their posts.... Thank fully there is always the block button to keep their negativities from your day.... I belittled no one, nor was my comment poison. It was simply a reflection of my feeling on the whole ripping people apart for poor grammar. In fact I included myself on the part where I said we would all be torn up by a *real* scholar. And I myself have to resist correcting peoples spelling. I do so because I usually screw up myself right after I do that. And its very irritating to people who most likely already know that their spelling sucks. You really read far too much into my comment and assumed way more about me as a person than you should have, soley based on my reaction to a criticism of others by the OP, delivered with humor, or not. As far as the block button, perhaps you should take your own advice. You have clearly exhibited the same behavior that you criticise in me, except you've turned it up to a much more caustic and insulting level than my message was delivered. I am surprised at you.
