When men commit suide, it's their fault. When women commit suicide, its the fault of sexist men.

There is no concern that most people who commit suicide are men though due to the whopper empathy gap. If most people who commit suicide were women, that's when society would start listening.

Status: offline 		It is just abominably stupid to make a political issue out of personal tragedies. These events are individual decisions borne out of anguish. The real issue here should be our inadequate care for mental health in the English-speaking nations, or in the capitalist nations. It goes back to when Thatcher and Reagan liberated the mentally ill and set them loose to live on the streets. The issue is compounded by the cases of post traumatic pain that young men and women bring home from our endless wars. The problem is much greater than your usual asinine pity the poor male population delusion.

That's what feminists do all the time with multiple things. DV, rape, the list goes on and on.

What you choose to accept is that white men are the vast majority who commit suicide and there is little concern for that simply because they are white men. If it was women, blacks, muslims, who were the vast majority, people like you would be singing a whole different tune. As you suck up to blacks all the time, if blacks were the vast majority, you would be complaining about it on here and blaming white people for it.

You obviously know nothing about men or women committing suicide, or the fact that crisis lines have for OVER 40 years catered to men AND women, AND children.

The suicides of 22 veterans a day means nothing to you, unless you can blame a woman,
Is that feminists fault? is that womens fault? No, thats war, thats death, thats blood and chaos and scarred minds who cannot cope with return to civillian life, or pain from injuries, depression, etc, you just spurt out the words like you are king shit.

Though, to be fair, I suspect he would only tell a person to jump if they were female, or wearing a hijab, or queer, or had darker skin, or they had failed to escape his long and dreary list of groups to hate.

It is widely recognised that young men (of all races) represent the largest number of suicides in most communities. Sadly young men also tend to be more "successful" on average when attempting suicide than women so their attempts are more deadly, and men often do not come to the attention of services before committing suicide.

Public health bodies and mental health services in the UK are well aware of the inequalities in the suicide, which is the biggest killer of men between 20 and 45 in the UK. I refer to the UK not because Britain is doing particularly well or badly but because I can find the references more easily.

You can follow links and do web searches which should indicate to you just how well recognised this is. Services are specifically designed to address the higher risks for young men, including public education to encourage men to seek help earlier, which remains a major issue for men in accessing all health and social services, including mental health.

As an aside your link references a BBC report. In case you think the corporation particularly gynocentric in this area, you will find other articles on the BBC news website, specifically on inequalities in the distribution of suicides and the challenge presented by the higher rates of male suicide.

Rm has never done that in the past.

While it's perfectly understandable, and indeed reasonable to expect adults to learn about something before they post about it, perhaps it is unrealistic to expect rm to change the habits of a lifetime and acquaint himself with the facts before he shoots his mouth off about it.

However, I suppose that there's no harm in hoping, no matter how improbable one's hope is ....
