If a policeman in the US is in fear for his life then any shooting he does in his defense is justified under the law.
These dogs look a lot like pit bulls, and justified or not, pit bulls have a rep for being "killer" dogs.
In the heat of the moment he may have genuinely been in fear of injury or even death.
However, that said, pepper spray might have been a better choice at that moment if he was thinking clearly.
Panic is more likely.
Or he might have just shot the dogs because he thought he could get away with it as he didn't know that he was being filmed.

What, a highly trained police officer panicking over a couple of dogs that weren't any threat? Not all that convincing a story, sorry.

News to me as well, but Bama seems to regard his peers as modern day samurai with a specific set of skills that would impress Liam Neeson.
As usually you credit me with stands I have never taken.
Liam Neeson, unlike Jacky Chan , is only an actor, not that hard to impress him.
