Why are Iraqi Christians facing deportation from US?

More than 100 Iraqi Christians in Michigan are fighting deportation after being arrested in an immigration crackdown ordered by the Trump administration.
Most were detained for visa violations, including past criminal convictions, that had been ignored by US officials for years, even decades.
Many in the community supported Donald Trump's presidential campaign and say they never thought they would be targeted by raids.

Trump: Christian refugees to get priority hard to believe that is the President of the United States: he hadnt a fuking clue what he was on about and just lied and lied and made up shite.

One of Trump's campaign promises was to clear out illegals with criminal records. There was no mention of their faith or national origin in that promise, so in that sense it is consistent. As a Michigander, I'm all for removing those with criminal records of any faith or nationality. To my way of looking at it, if you are from another country and you wish to stay in the US, you are quite welcome as long as you enter legally and abide by our laws. If not, you have no place here.

learn what a "refugee" is compared to other ways people are in the country.

otherwise, you "don't have a fuking clue what you are on about."

Refugees are here legally. The article specifies that those being deported are not here legally.
Also, as a refugee the commission of criminal acts can cause refugee status to be denied/revoked.

Illegal aliens with criminal records should be deported. Nothing to see here. Start some other idiotic thread.

One of Trump's campaign promises was to clear out illegals with criminal records.

He also promised to drain the swamp, build a wall across the Mexican border, ban moslems from entering the country, make America great again and protect the working man.
None of that's happening, and picking up on this election promise to deliver upon seems a poor substitute, frankly.

servantforuse -> RE: Why are Iraqi Christians facing deportation from US? (7/15/2017 7:53:08 AM)

He is going to build that wall and he is banning muslims from certain countries from entering the US despite efforts from liberal judges from doing so. America is being great again.

From what I have seen of recent politics one campaign promise kept is doing better than most politicians. As for making America great again, it has been on a downhill slide for decades, I don't think it can be restored in a few months. You can get things done quickly under a dictatorship, democracy is a much slower process.

Well dogsbreath44 as long as you address me as your better I think I will allow that.

Anyone bother to click on the second link?

So he is sending them back to get their head chopped off?

And where does his illegal immigrant wife fit in?

Just acknowledging the massive glaring problems is is good start and a very welcome change

The last Democrat president wouldn't even admit that terrorists are Muslims, or that illegals cause problems. Wouldn't get anywhere near anything like that

mnottertail -> RE: Why are Iraqi Christians facing deportation from US? (7/15/2017 8:21:21 AM)

that is not true, and there are more white nutsucker terrorists killing US citizens than by Muslims.

No to both. Neither is true.

Why are hundreds of American citizens (many that were born in the US) deported from the US every year???? they do it cuz they can... but that's illegal, yet they still do it or illegally detain American citizens..

bounty44 -> RE: Why are Iraqi Christians facing deportation from US? (7/15/2017 8:38:17 PM)

you cant just say stuff like this without referencing.

where exactly does a US citizen who was born here get deported to?

and "hundreds?"

jlf1961 -> RE: Why are Iraqi Christians facing deportation from US? (7/15/2017 11:38:03 PM)

The hundreds being referenced are Iraqi Christians who came to the states on visas ranging from student to employment and without reference to being religious refugees or refugees of any sort.

It is no different from others being deported for overstaying their visas, it just so happens these are Iraqi. At last count, the crackdown has also netted Christians from other countries, as well as Latin America.

It is an attempt to make a mountain out of a mole hill and the fact that it had not been addressed by earlier administrations is a bit of a misdirection. This is not the first time something like this has happened, and the last time the BBC decided to run this type of story dealt with a group of Chinese who came into the country illegally.

What is not in the story is that if these people can prove that even now, after the over throw of the previous Bathist regime, they face religious persecution, they will be given the chance to apply for asylum on religious grounds.

But of course, that part of the facts has been left out.

KenDckey -> RE: Why are Iraqi Christians facing deportation from US? (7/16/2017 12:26:25 AM)

I would say that it is within the realm of possibility that most illegals are refugees from something - gangs, cartels, retribution, corrupt government, etc. The ddifference is they didn't appoly for refugee status.

That being said, illegal is still illegal so send them back to their home country or some country that is willling to take them in.

FR
I think it's good to see Iraqi Christians deported.

It simply shows that this fair and not just against Muslims.

Any illegal immigrant is getting deported, period.

Another double standard, that. There wasl eight years of whining in here that Obama hadn't corrected the deficit immediately he was sworn in (mostly from people who were cheering on the elements of the Senate who refused to pass a budget in order to shut down the government). If the democrat wasn't entitled to take some time to get the work done to improve things, there's no reason why the RINO should either.
