made public, the Trump white house sure has no qualms about releasing other people's information.

White House releases sensitive personal information of voters worried about their sensitive personal information

Unfortunately for these voters and others who wrote in, the Trump administration did not redact any of their personal information from the emails before releasing them to the public. In some cases, the emails contain not only names, but email addresses, home addresses, phone numbers and places of employment of people worried about such information being made available to the public.

The Washington Post is not publishing any of this information because in most cases it does not appear that the individuals were aware their comments would be shared by the White House. The emails were sent to the Election Integrity Commissions' email address that the administration asked U.S. secretaries of state to send data files to.

“This request is very concerning,” wrote one. “The federal government is attempting to get the name, address, birth date, political party, and social security number of every voter in the country.” That email, published by the White House, contained the sender's name and home address.

The kicker is that President Trump is pissed off about people looking into his 'private information' while, at the same time, perfectly willing to release the private information of American citizens.

Already a thread here (we're on the second page already)

The usually suspects have already shared "Nuh-uh! Fake news!"

I know . . . hardly surprising.

Actually, my point was that Trump, who complains constantly about people digging into his 'personal' information is releasing personal information of people who emailed the white house complaining about his commission's intent to release personal information.

Which, by the way, is technically illegal, no government agency or representative can knowingly release personal information other than the names of people that may have contacted them either electronically or by written correspondence. In other words, the white house can release names, and even cities where the person resides, but all other information such as phone numbers, addresses, etc cannot be legally released. This is true for congressmen, aids, agency employees (if one remembers back a few years, a Bush administration employee was not only fired for releasing personal information of some who contacted the president, but there were some civil penalties as well.)

However, the issue is the hypocrisy of the Trump administration. The activities of Trump aids prior to the election, and who they may have spoken to, emailed, or talked to via the phone, is not open to public scrutiny, yet they are perfectly willing to disclose the same type of information of people who are critical of their policies.

And as far as the fake news crowd is concerned, the white house has confirmed that such information was released.

Of course, it is fake news even if confirmed by Trump people that it actually happened, and the fact they are pulling the same unethical bullshit as Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush, etc as far back as any one cares to look is perfectly okay since if Trump does it, it is not unethical.

the basic "our shit dont stink" argument.

And got the usual "Nuh-uh!"

Really, at the heart of all this, after all the usual denials, the real problem is supporters know all this and don't care.
