It might be interesting for you to note that among the peoples that followed God's suggestion to spread abroad the earth, smallpox was unknown but among the peoples that ignored that suggestion and gathered into large cities is where smallpox and many other deadly diseases developed. Instead of keeping those diseases to themselves they brought them to North America used them to decimate the native Americans so they could steal their land.

Also a serious problem. I take it the beetles are wiping out pines that are being farmed for wood, rather than pinyons and scrub pines and the like?
