I wonder why this wasn't discovered by some one from a country with "FREE" health care?

so what? if the drug industry cant manufacture this sponge molecule artificially then they wont be able to patent it (so they can charge outrageous sums for it) and so this "cure" wont ever get off the ground...

Quite. Everybody should take it for granted that profit orientated companies will distribute a technology they don't own in order to benefit everybody else, after all.

I don't usually agree with tj444, but it sure seems that lately, I've agreed more than disagreed. Here, again, I do agree.

The Chinese non-traditional (as compared to US medical providers) healers have probably already been using this for ages without knowing the exact details for it's success.

I have a realistic outlook, especially when it comes to US health care...

And btw, there are tons of medical breakthroughs by Canada (one of those "FREE" health care countries).. here are some for ya.. (& if you have ever used botox for wrinkles, that was also discovered by a Canadian doctor.. [;)])..

"Despite Canada’s small population, our researchers have made many discoveries, many of them world-changing. Canada gets a big bang for its research bucks: although it ranks 14th in research spending among 31 Western industrialized nations, it ranks sixth in producing top research papers."
