You live in the nice little town of Southaven, Mississippi. "Nice" meaning that you finally rebuilt the church that was destroyed during the Civil War. At 11:00 PM you are cuddled with your honey in bed. There comes a knocking on the door. Who could that be near a midnight clear? You run downstairs in your stocking followed by your pet pitbull. One of you opens the door slightly and your pitbull escapes. Somebody shoots at your pitbull. Unclear whether he was hit or not. According to the outside people they see a handgun protruding from behind the open door and they shouted orders to put it down. Your wife and neighbors say they never heard commands. We don't know if the outsiders identified themselves. It doesn't matter. Someone fires a series of bullets through your front door. You are killed.

The police were there to serve a warrant on your neighbor. They had arrived at the wrong house number. You are still dead. Apparently, Mississippi schools do not teach numbers very well. Nor does the police academy. The police are embarrassed. You are still dead.

Do not open your front door at night. You are not safe. Instruct your dog not to open the door. Better still, hide under the bed. The monster is outside.

America, America, God gave his guns to thee . . . .

It seems that the epidemic of police killings is spreading ...

Yesterday NSW Police shot dead a scissors wielding thief who was trying to rob a florist shop of its takings at Sydney's main Railway Station.

The shooting has raised a lot of questions about police shootings. The dead man seemed agitated and mentally unbalanced to witnesses. (One might automatically question the mental state of a person who chose to rob a florists, of all places.) Despite being armed with Tasers and having a 4 to 1 numerical advantage, the police chose to shoot to kill rather than adopting a de-escalation strategy,.

There is a lot of dissatisfaction that once again, the police will be investigating themselves when their actions have come in for a lot of criticism.

Perhaps it happens far too often when compared to every other county in the world?

you wouldnt, but looking at other countries compared to the US, I think we can ameliorate some of the stuff.

If that is the standard, 100% guarantee for anything, we need to remove all laws and policies.

First... they decide... Lets kill someone tonight...just for fun...I mean no one will care especially if its a black man...HA HA. Yep another true story documented by the national news that, as we all know, researched these happenings and received testimony under oath...and no one lies under oath... from three reputable undisclosed sources in the police department and family. These investigations ALWAYS reveal the truth before internal investigations can be completed... because we all know they will be LIES LIES LIES.

Lets get our news trucks and reporters down there in front of the court house so we can tell the peaceful citizens of the area how the killer police got off AGAIN and document some looting and burning... We know the police story was a lie...because...because... how could we sell newspapers or air time otherwise.
