Yeah, we have to get the country past this "But that's socialism!" whining and recognize that this is a legitimate problem for government to solve.

And elect people who want to solve it.

If you've done three impossible things this morning, why not round it off with breakfast at Milliways?

Government involvement got us where we are, so of course socialist fanatic's first thought is to double down on what caused all of the problems to begin with

Deregulation, tax cuts and trashing society's infrastructure got us where we are, so of course neocon asshat's first thought is to double down on what caused all of the problems to begin with

FIFY.

Yeah. I suppose so.

Here is an idea for the replacement of the ACA.
There is no doubt that the ACA has problems.
OK, fine. Fix the problems and replace it. The difficulty lies in the fact that one side wants to basically get rid of it and let people freeload off those of us who have insurance like they used to.
The solution is simple.
Whatever congress passes WILL become THEIR health care plan as well.
None of this platinum level stuff that they pay nothing for in perpetuity.
If it's good enough for your constituents, it's good enough for you Mr or Ms Congresscritter.

Now fix the damn thing and pass it.............and live with it yourself.

Now you just have to get Congress to vote against their self-interest.

When they voted to debate the bill McCain was in the hospital and Pence threw the deciding vote. When the vote to pass the bill came up McCain had rushed back to DC to be there for that vote. The shit-eating grin on his face as he voted the bill down was clearly his form of payback to Trump for Trump's campaign remark that McCain was only a hero because he had been taken POW in Vietnam. McCain's thumbs down vote was clearly a FU directed at Trump for personal reasons. Had McCain been voting politically he would have passed it.

Musicmystery -> RE: Replacement of the ACA (8/3/2017 3:30:51 PM)

Political payback IS voting politically.

Political payback IS voting politically.

Particularly as the GOP is currently devoted to personality politics rather than ideology.

Why are you any better - you are aware? tell me :)

Fucked his voters. He promised them in his primary and general that he would work to repeal Obamacare. That's the reason President Trump was elected and we have majorities of Republicans everywhere, the people have spoken

I am glad he has a very aggressive form of brain cancer, no one is more deserving.

WickedsDesire -> RE: Replacement of the ACA (8/3/2017 5:04:20 PM)

That kind of attitude is why no one trusts Republicans.

HaveRopeWillBind -> RE: Replacement of the ACA (8/3/2017 6:02:01 PM)

Fortunately for McCain he doesn't have to depend upon the ACA for treatment of his cancer. If so he'd never have lived long enough to vote down its replacement.

WickedsDesire -> RE: Replacement of the ACA (8/3/2017 6:05:43 PM)

call me anyone
seems fair..... anyone have a problem with that before i spill brains?
