ORIGINAL: Lucylastic of course you are, and they arent all illegals, sorry. No reason to be sorry, Lucy. I have no need to change my statements, either. "I'm perfectly okay with people who are not legally in the US leaving. We do have rules, yanno. Canada has her own immigration rules, and I'm willing to bet a lot of the illegal immigrants in the US wouldn't be able to legally immigrate to Canada, either. " Nowhere does anything I stated say that all those going to Canada are illegally in the US. Project much? The OP stated "refugees" and the link stated "refugees" and "asylum seekers", no mention of illegal immigrants, so why are you only talking about illegal immigrants? why dont you start your own thread instead of hijacking this one? [8|] People that claim refugee status are legal pending their hearing/application decision.. even here in the US... Not all will be accepted but until that determination they are legal, but some of those fleeing Trump have gone thru the process and been accepted as refugees.. they dont trust Trump or the US to keep their word and those people would rather travel to Canada than find out that Trump has changed the rules and decided they are to leave.. You have said that those that are legally in the US have nothing to fear. You are so fucking wrong, even Americans (with a great tan) have plenty to fear, Trump has intensified those fears.. what amazes me is that y'all are so gung ho to deport illegal immigrants but you turn a blind eye to the Americans that are illegally detained and even illegally deported.. You Americans dont seem to realize that you too have to carry your "papers" with you.. I guess if you have white skin with no hint of brown, you feel safe... just to show you that born in America Americans are being illegally detained & possibly deported, here is a recent article.. this same sort of thing has happened to thousands of Americans, btw.. "U.S. Citizen Who Was Held By ICE For 3 Years Denied Compensation By Appeals Court" http://www.npr.org/2017/08/01/540903038/u-s-citizen-held-by-immigration-for-3-years-denied-compensation-by-appeals-court And speaking about applying to immigrate legally, do y'all know that Trump just changed the rules on that, now the visas available for family have been halved and restricted further... many of these people have gone thru the process and waited years, some have waited ten years or longer to legally immigrate, now your Great Leader tells them "no, fuck off"...
