Mike Pence denies planning 2020 presidential bid US Vice-President Mike Pence has dismissed as "disgraceful and offensive" a report suggesting he is preparing a run for president in 2020. The New York Times said a "shadow campaign" had been set up by some Republicans on the assumption Donald Trump would not stand again. Citing multiple sources, the article said Mr Pence had implied that he would plan to run if Mr Trump did not. Mr Pence said the report was an attempt to divide the administration.

Reagan was a movie star. The difference between Trump and Reagan is that Reagan was actually interested in more than himself and had beliefs and stuff. Trump has proven that voters do not care whether or not someone is qualified to run the country, as long as they tell them what they want to hear. Combine a willingness to be stupid enough to reach Trump voters, celebrity and fascism and you pose a real threat.

Your usual intellectual contribution. I'm surprised but fascinated -- Pence is extremely conservative, so on the face of it I'd think you'd be a fan. But then Trump is all aggressive rhetoric. It's interesting to see people placed in a position of choosing between them, and what they choose.
