A better citation for a ridiculous conspiracy theory.

Yeah. I'll get on that.

Go away, moron.

MM, it seems somebody feels angry because any of his usual propaganda sites providing copy-and-paste arguments failed him on this one and now he needs your help.

Careful: now you've tipped his hand, there's a derail looming...

I don't think it'd even have to be an object of planetary mass: didn't they discover Pluto because Uranus' orbit looked a bit off? I know that Pluto is listed as a planet because it's in its own orbit, but our own moon is a lot bigger than Pluto, and so are most of Saturn's and Jupiters moons.

Surely somewhere someone is claiming we all know all this but the goverment/Illuminati/feminists/Muslims/Mexicans/Chinese/bankers are suppressing the information?

Nope.

When you get bored here Carl Sagan, Stephen Hawking and Arthur C. Clarke - God, The Universe and Everything Else (1988)

I spent 45 years of my 47 years on earth underestimating Carl Sagan :)
I think he wanted to beat hawkings in that, and tell clarke to shut his fuking trap - fair point

To be fair to hawking he couldt directly reply then :( - I actually like him too, a lot.

Umm, no. I wasn't serious, I found the entire "prophecy" so silly, I just assumed that my not being serious was implied.

I missed your posts, when I sent this it was a FR (from a slow sucky internet connection.)

I agree that the whole bag of worms is bullshit, but some asswit presents it as a fucking conspiracy theory, they join the ranks of the nutters they are posting about.

Well, for those who believe that those particular aliens created mankind to mine for gold - it isn't a far stretch of imagination to believe they believe in a government cover up to hide the "truth" of alien tampering with our DNA. Sooo, lumping conspiracy theorists with looney tune prophecies about aliens and their planet striking earth may not be palatable to any self respecting conspiracy theorists, but it is easy to see how the author of the piece failed to make the distinction.[:D]

WickedsDesire -> RE: Eclipse marks apocalypse: Mystery planet Nibiru to collide with Earth (8/11/2017 1:08:27 PM)

Do you know how many stichin books I have read in my life? shag all for he was a fraud - was he a complete fraud though - lets be fair?

Gold is an element born beyond all your imaginations - you all know that, right? Oh wait I had that argument on a forum on another site

The funny thing about the people who believe this shit and point to 'science' as proof seem to forget for a planet to get that close, the orbits of every planet in the solar system would be effected....

Like about 12 years prior to impact.

Fucking complete morons

Yep. More people who haven't a clue what science is or what it does.

And your actual experience with science is...?

WickedsDesire -> RE: Eclipse marks apocalypse: Mystery planet Nibiru to collide with Earth (8/11/2017 2:08:21 PM)

Punctuation not so much. Science more than any one on here - ask your question ninja

WickedsDesire -> RE: Eclipse marks apocalypse: Mystery planet Nibiru to collide with Earth (8/11/2017 2:10:04 PM)

The 12 years is all incorrect - but you all know that? Consider you warned :)

True, as some thread participants have demonstrated.

Amateur astronomer, HAM radio operator

I have built, to date, have built a total of six optical telescopes (the last one was an 18 inch catadioptric telescope) and two homemade radio telescopes (not much of a challenge, just convert an one 1.3 meter home satellite dish and bingo you have a radio telescope)

Also, considering how long the Nibiru and Nemesis (the dark star companion to our sun) theories have been around, as well as the few thousand articles written on just why we would have known about them and their position long before now, and the simple fact that orbital physics in relation to the mass extinct events in earth's history is kind of a hobby, a lot.

Now while the possibility of a brown dwarf (or even a red dwarf) star as a companion to our sun has yet to be proved or disproved simply due to the fact that a star of either type is virtually invisible to optical telescopes, but there is a consensus that there is something nearby that seems to directly impact the kuiper belt every 12 million years or so, the planet Nibiru has been disproven and debunked every time it pops up.

As I said, the effects of a planetary mass moving into the elliptic plain of the solar system would have become known about 12 years ago, earlier if it were something along the lines of a gas giant, simply by the disturbance in the orbits of the known Kuiper belt objects, i.e a dramatic increase on the number of comets moving into the inner solar system.

Then the asteroids in eccentric orbits (those orbiting at an angle to the solar plain) would have been altered, increasing the chance of a repeat of the heavy bombardment epoch of earth's development.

Once that started happening, astronomers would have some idea of where to look for whatever was causing the disturbances (again orbital physics at work.)

Finally, if a planetary mass was close enough to hit us on the 21st of this month, we would be able to see it with the naked eye both at night and during the day, not to mention the tides would have gone through some extreme changes (figure a 30 foot high tide in Miami FL.)

Of course, the planets own gravity would be playing havoc with the earth in other ways, earthquakes, volcanoes erupting, new volcanoes where none existed before.

And when I mention earthquakes, figure a magnitude 12 quake in Buffalo NY as an example.

A good example of gravity induced earthquakes would be the activity on Jupiter's moon Io.

Oh, a last point, a planetary mass that close would have affected our own moon's orbit in some rather spectacular ways, along with the orbits of satellites and the ISS.

And for those making the claim that the reason we have not seen the oncoming planet is that it consists of Dark Matter, then all the disturbances to orbits as stated would have been going on but about 10000 times worse, since dark matter seems to have a hell of a lot more mass than normal matter, or say a thousand times heavier than the substance that makes up neutrino starts, which has the mass of the sun for every cubic inch.

Oh, and there is one more point.

A planet sized object made of dark matter in a near by orbit would have one other major effect.....

It would have prevented the planets of the solar system from forming since it would have stolen the stuff that made up the planets from the sun before any formed in the first place.

And there is one other, tiny bit of insignificant proof....

We detect extrasolar planets by the way they cause their parent stars to wobble.

Which means that even that far out, there would have been a difference in our own sun's behavior, not to mention all the planets in the solar system would have eccentric orbits.

Personally, I am leaning toward the dark stellar mass companion of our sun theory, which means that we are due to see an increase of newly discovered comets in the near future (say within the next 100 years.)

Musicmystery -> RE: Eclipse marks apocalypse: Mystery planet Nibiru to collide with Earth (8/11/2017 5:59:11 PM)

Oh hell, elementary school science would be sufficient to debunk this silliness.

I wonder if Nanji consults an astrophysicist to get the sunrise and sunset times.

Musicmystery -> RE: Eclipse marks apocalypse: Mystery planet Nibiru to collide with Earth (8/12/2017 8:19:47 AM)

In the US at least, education is in a shambles. College students don't know the difference between Civil Rights and the Civil War (I mean this literally). They can't use algebra to solve problems (such as what would I need on the final to get a B in a course). They can't compute their averages accurately if it uses percentage weighted categories. They can't compute their GPA. They're completely (and I mean completely) ignorant about the rest of the world). They have never heard of logic (in the syllogism sense) and can't use it. They can't write paragraphs, and they can't follow basic implications of what they read or think.

No Child Left Behind and Common Core has meant Nobody Gets Ahead -- Everybody Stays on the Same Basic Level.

There's a reason we're importing engineers and doctors -- none of these kids are ever going to achieve that in the US educational system.

One student teacher told her high school students about Dante -- which she pronounced "Dant," as in rhymes with "can't."

State teachers colleges in NY have been at 20% enrollment. No one wants to be a teacher in this environment.

Ah. So it's a semantics problem.

The planets won't "collide" -- they'll "collude."

I'm hesitant to point this out, being the bashful type that I am . . .

But, the planets will actually 'canoodle' at the appointed time.

Thanks to modern tech, we'll have an abundance of 'selfies' of young people on dates and waving their arms, with Earth and Mars or Earth and Venus "getting it on" in the background.

All those space flight bookings, so now we know why.

So then you went down there to steal enough of his supply to last you for 80 years. Obviously.

I suppose you deserve credit for saving 15-20 people in that process, so here's your medal.
