you talk as though this will be a conventional 'Boots on the ground' conflict greta. If the two opposing lunatics have their ways, there will be little left of N.K. and possibly a fair slice of S.K. except some very pretty coloured glass covering a countryside that glows a lovely green in the dark. Nothing will be rebuilt there for quite a while I think. I still wonder whether either side will be using 'dirty' or 'clean' bombs and which way do the prevailing winds and jet-streams blow from the Korean Peninsula in the case of the 'dirty' ones.

What do you think happen to Singapore during the war with bombs dropping? It was flatten to nothing. Yet in less than 20 years, it was rebuilt.

I believe similar will easily happen to North Korea. Same as how Japan easily rebuilt even after US dropped two major bombs on them. They became better. Let's them start from scratch and rebuild.

It will be very different from islamic countries, as North Koreans without their leader aren't gonna form their own resistance to fight back.

It's not like Iraq where after Al Queda, ISIS emerge from their ashes! Because it involves a major world religion.

As I said, with North Korea, once their living God is shown to be mortal. All their beliefs will be shattered. They are a clean book to learn from scratch.

And South Korea is not evil. Which is good. They will treat North Koreans fairly.

The only problem I see is if China wants to take over North Korea after Kim dies, instead of letting South Korea have it. Because knowing China, they are almost like claiming everything around them as rightfully belonging to them lately. So much territory dispute with other Asian countries.

The bombs that dropped on Singapore were conventional bombs of very little power compared to the things that the two lunatics are prepared to throw around. Do you know what a one megaton bomb is ? It is the equivalent of one thousand tons of TNT and it was a one megaton firecracker that was dropped on Hiroshima. The things they are bragging about these days go up in many multiples of that. If the birds fly, there will be little to build on in the Korean Peninsula and nobody to build it anyway; north OR south.
One other thing, do you realise what speed those things are travelling at, just before they strike ? It's Mach 20, which may or may not be brought down by an anti-missile-missile. Nobody really knows yet. Maybe we will have a chance to find out in the not too distant future. I sincerely hope not though.

To be fair though. Considering, we are only 21km in width and 42km in length, even smaller during that time because we grew bigger now thanks to land reclamation. That's absolutely tiny. Conventional bombs are like nuclear when it dumps on Singapore. Doesn't take much to decimate us.

Unless you are saying that the residue of the bomb chemicals will allow nothing to grow or survive. Even if they flatten the whole North Korea, it can be rebuild. But if this was really war, the war strategy would be infiltrate and kill Kim. Once Kim is killed. War is over.

US just needs to kill Kim to end this war ASAP to minimize casualties.

This kinda reminds me of GOT, where the woman with the dragons would just rain fire on King Landings, take out the evil Queen. End Game. But millions will die and the city will burn and be decimated.

So now they are taking the slow tortoise route to avoid hurting innocent people. So no hell and fury from dragons! And her mercy route has caused all her supporting team to be killed one by one.

Greta, try googling 'dirty bombs' or maybe 'cobalt warheads'
Things will grow and some things will survive but they may prove to be full of cancers or mutated in some other particularly nasty way.
You talk as though wiping out a large number of people was something to shrug your shoulders over and carry on with whatever you doing. I hate to think what it will do to the minds of the survivors on both sides of the border................and maybe even further afield too. I suppose you will be one of the volunteers to go in and help the injured and bury any dead ? I am damn sure I won't. I've seen my share of death, blood and guts and I'll leave it to those who want/need to experience it . Like you maybe ?

For me, war is war. It's something is still happening in this world right now. And also necessary for future generations of peace, in the example of Japan and Germany.

I think in life, alot of ugly things are necessary for the greater good. It happens all the time throughout history.

Kim is an unhinged animal drunk on power. It will happen sooner or later as long as he gets drunk delirious on what power he holds in his hands once he believes his weapons are fully effective and operational.

It's just delaying an inevitable.

What weight of bombs were actually dropped on Singapore and how many people were killed by them ?
Yes, war is war; nothing more when you read about it in the paper or see it on the movies or TV news, just before you go and make yourself a cup of tea and settle down to watch something else or read the funny papers. It becomes just a little more when you have been up close and personal with it. Still, it shouldn't affect Singapore, as long as the winds aren't blowing east to west, so you should be fine.

Yes, the Supreme Commander is an unhinged lunatic, drunk on power. I agree with you. So is Kim though.

If it affects Singapore, we all die.

Big deal. Living in a tiny country. WE all know that if war comes upon us. We're all dead.

Pretty much we Singaporeans talk about it. We don't expect to survive. And if it comes, it's inevitable.

I agree with that too. I figured I was a dead man walking many years ago and have been living on borrowed time ever since, but good luck to those who would like to live a little

The fact that Kim spent his entire life so obsess with making these missiles and developing chemical poison. Very successful in killing his father's other son.

Tells you about the state of the mind that he is in. He also lives in absolute power where anybody, even blood relatives who dares question him, gets put to death.

He is trying to grow this absolute power, that's why he is working so hard on deadly weapons.

To me, he is unstable. It's a matter of time.

In Singapore, every home has a bomb shelter now. Something the government made sure to include in every home they build. But we always joke, that's just for body identification, when you retrieve the dead from each bomb shelter. As we are all high rise building, so hiding in the bomb shelter of your own home, when a whole building collapse is probably gonna kill you anyway.

This is how much we expect war.

I wonder if I can get hold of one of those old posters that came out in the 60's advising you what to do in case of a nuclear missile strike. I could probably make a fortune selling reprints round about now. I'm sure some of our older readers will remember them. Very funny in a crypt-humour sort of way.

Just remember though that this will NOT be a conventional war. There will be no last stands or heroic bayonet charges. Those missiles will be coming down at mach-20 and you won't even have time to bitch about the noise. Those bomb-shelters will be about as useful as tits on a bull or WD on a good day. Totally useless. you may just as well go out and watch all the pretty sunrises.

One thing I like about our country is all these things. Now it's all about what to do in case of a terrorist strike. Door to door knocks to explain to you and patiently teach you what to do. Especially to us women as we were not military trained. They spend resources on all these preparation. As 100% of our men are practically the Military. Now they are all being forced to be on an Military App, so that they can report any suspicious terrorist activity. So every man on the street in Singapore is activated and trained to spot potential terrorists.

It's all very organized and co-ordinated. I guess Israel must have the similar thing going on since the whole country IS the military.
