From a lefty news source mind you.

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/08/22/trump-rejects-wealthy-friends-241919?lo=ap_c1

The lefty view:

quote:

“These are two people who really don’t understand how government works talking to a president who came into office not understanding how government works,” said Jeff Navin, a founder of Boundary Stone Partners and former acting chief of staff at the Department of Energy under President Barack Obama. “What they’re asking for causes serious legal problems for the agencies they’re asking to take these steps."

The righty view:

quote:

The Trump administration “is committed to making sound policy decisions based on market principles and the rule of law, not political favoritism,” said Tom Pyle, president of the industry-funded American Energy Alliance and former head of the Trump transition team at the Energy Department. “This is welcome news for Main Street and a wake-up call for K Street.”

You decide.

We know had Hillary been elected she'd have known how to run government and have given away all of the goodies to her friends/donors.

What do you see Trump doing?

I see Trump far outdoing what Hillary could have imagined as far as giving away all the goodies to friends/donors. As proof of point:

I don't think that George Carlin or Bill Hicks or even Stephen Colbert were/are even half as funny as Tom Pyle.

That was fucking hilarious.

Trump is doing what he did to his contractors on his developments...fucking them over.

He's fucking over his voter base now that he is in office which is a bad thing and now he's fucking over his donors who tried to bribe him which is a good thing.

I don't see either point of view, and I am glad.

The only thing stopping Trump from being the most corrupt POTUS in history is his incompetence, stupidity and unpopularity... all of which are making him a totally toothless, ineffectual 'leader'.
Other politicians are more effective at rewarding their friends simply because they know how to get things done.

~FRing it~

Im a leftist thinker. For me, Id honestly had hope that a political outsider like Trump could maybe shake thing up for the better here in the US. But I forgot the first rule of

I dont hate Trump. I dont think Hillary would have been a savior either. There was no good choice this last election. We were fucked either way...and neither Trump nor Hillary would have used lube. To borrow from (I think) Mike Myers in Wayne's World..."its dutch door action...we're screwed either way"

So for me, I watch my POTUS on the news...and I feel embarassed. If I dont go throwing hissy fits on Twitter, my POTUS shouldnt conduct himself that way either. Just in general...it's bad. We are a very divided nation. But Id have honestly disliked life under Hillary too. Just my opinion

It's a tough call. Did Trump have anything to do with Icahn's or Murray's proposals falling flat? If so, good on Trump! If it was Congress and/or the individual agencies, and not Trump, then, good on the agencies.

So, the "lefty view" may be correct, or the "righty view" may be correct. It depends on how Trump was actually involved.
