Wasn't Clinton impeached and disbared for lieing?  Guess not   He was one of the good guys - LOL

If the only thing Bush ever lied about was scrogging some stupid woman I would cheer for him.

What woman?   When?   specifics please

I was still working in the costume store when the Clinton scandal was running.  I put up a display with a Pinoccio nose on a Clinton mask and a blue ballgown with play money pinned to the shoulder (20 bonus points to anyone who gets that joke) and it amazed me how many liberals were deeply offended by it.  Truth before party affiliation.

And, much as I enjoy reading your opinions and thoughts LaTigresse, Bill was under oath at the time.

Rich,
I'm neither Dem nor Rep. I've been involved in the past with both parties and BOTH have their lies, and deceit....I wouldn't care if Bush were a Dem---I would have never voted for the man based on his record and inexperience.
That's just me.

Inexperience    Hmmmmmm   How does one get experience at being President without being President?

So rather than continuing to rip on the guy, let me ask: What would YOU like to see him do? What could he do tomorrow, that would bolster your faith in him? If he called you up and asked what you thought he should do, what would you suggest?

Spending must be reduced.

Oil companies must be regulated to keep them from taking advantage of the consumer. Regulations are already in place. The government only need to have the will to enforce them.

Rehashing the "why we went to Iraq" issue is pointless. We are there. The only point now, is that we need an end game to this. We are pouring our tax dollars into a rebuilding effort for people that would fillet us alive, given half the chance. The administration should decide and clearly articulate what the eventual goal is, and accomplish that goal.

The "middle of the road" position on illegal immigration is a bad call. Have a detailed study done on the economic impact of this issue, and make a decision.

And ... the number one bit of advice I would give ... is to get out in front of issues you are dealing with, and take a stand based on fact-based information. President Bush waits so long before openly discussing an issue, that everyone has already taken a position, based on months of information put out by vastly partisan groups.

And those are sound reasons to choose on.  I didn't vote for him in 2000 either.

KenDckey -> RE: George W. Bush Fan Club (7/28/2006 1:23:03 PM)

Hey WyrdRich   Did you know that Uncle Sam used to be an anti-war protester?

LaTigresse -> RE: George W. Bush Fan Club (7/28/2006 1:27:45 PM)

Yeah, I know.........the whole oath thing. While I agree that action was not correct, I just found the whole idea of wether or not he did and that my hard earned tax money was spent on getting to the bottom of wether he screwed her or not rediculous. The fact is that in the big picture it really didn't matter in the first place. I would lay odds that you would be hard pressed to prove that any president DIDN'T screw around with another woman......or man.......but our twisted sense of what is important in this country has gotten so out of hand its just purely sickening. The truth is, it really doesn't matter who the president of the US fucks or how he does it. What matters is how he runs the country and represents our country to the rest of the world. Those are the issues that we should focus on. And yes, I know that there will be those moral fantatics that will say......"He commited adultery!!! That makes the US look bad!" Bullocks!!!!!!!! As it has been proven in history most world leaders do commit adultery. It was our fanatasizm and media frenzy over the whole thing that made us look like fools! Another truth.....ALL politicians lie! DUH!!!!

WyrdRich -> RE: George W. Bush Fan Club (7/28/2006 1:31:22 PM)

I'm with you on this.  A 5 year investigation, something like 65 million dollars and the best they could come up with was a bit of Hanky-panky on the side???   If they did that to me, I would be UNDER the jail and looking at my first parole hearing in 2469 (thank God for the statute of limitations).

I LOVE Dubyah. He's hysterical. I hope when he's out of office they give him his own show.

Inexperience    Hmmmmmm   How does one get experience at being President without being President?

On the national level, the republican party had more to offer than bush in the 2000 election. Sen. John McCain. Sen. Orion Hatch (remember those two fellows in the GOP debates?)
Experience with allies, the military, national education reforms, CFR? These are just starters. Clinton was only a governor and but he had a vision for the country that made sense at the time. It didn't hurt that he was a Rhodes Scholar either.

Respectfully,

Thanks Rich. I wonder what 2008 holds for us in the line of candidates? Probably McCain, Jeffords, Kerry and I hope to god not Hillary[:D]

I am an Arizonan and don't like McCain either but that is anohter story.   And I don't pay any attention to Hatch.

How about Newt?   I have met him.

That is what frustrates me. I do not identify as either republican or democrat. I prefer to vote for the person I feel is best for the job and I don't see anyone strong enough. I hate having to vote for the lesser of evils.

Want a race that would just rip this country apart no matter who won?  Hillary Clinton v. Jeb Bush.  Dunno who would win but EVERYBODY else would lose.

What was that South Park episode?  Giant Douche vs. Super turd or something like that?  Our party system is failing us rather badly in providing good people.

SCORPIOXXX -> RE: George W. Bush Fan Club (7/28/2006 2:05:52 PM)

Yes WyrdRich, Clinton was under oath -- so what???? The oath had nothing to do with sex... And the Bushie Boy is under oath, but he has already broken it countless times...

What amazes me about you Bush-erites is that while it's one thing to get suckered and go knee-jerk in 2000, in 2004 you re-elected an alleged Republican who took the biggest surplus in US history and turned it into the biggest deficit in US history  -- mostly on a bullshit war based on misinformation and lies, not to mention a national giveaway to the richest 1%... Does one laugh at this, or cry and vomit???
