And the illegals could care less.

Explain how a wall or a fence is gonna stop this shit?

quote:

(CNN)US agents have arrested 30 illegal immigrants thought to have crossed into San Diego through a cross-border smuggling tunnel from Mexico, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said.
The agents discovered the tunnel after encountering several people who had apparently just been smuggled into the California city, near the Otay Mesa port of entry, early Saturday, CBP said.

Forget the jokes about illegal aliens getting a fucking ladder, these intelligent individuals are going under the fences and will go under the wall.

I asked this when the border fence was proposed, and the entire time it was being built, how the fucking hell is a wall or fence gonna stop them from going under?

Now since these tunnels are also used to bring drugs into the country, there is a solution that the South Koreans developed that stopped North Korea from digging tunnels under the DMZ to get spies south...

Subterranean land mines.

Not only do the prove to be a deterrent after their existence is discovered (you dont tell the tunnelers about them) but it will save money since the drug couriers and illegals do not have to be jailed.

For that matter, seed every rural stretch along the border with mines, even though the US signed the treaty concerning using the damn things in combat, we still have a few million stockpiled, put the fuckers to use.

It was stupid when it was proposed, it was stupid when Trump jumped on it, it's stupid now.

Simply a worthless waste of money. All to attempt to prove he's tough.

He's all hat and no cattle.

Didn't y'all know?
He's gonna put magic Trump dust on it and it will ward against any 'bad hombres'.

If we REALLY wanted to keep people from coming into this country illegally,
we could manage to keep a fair number of them out of here.
We also, could legally make it not profitable and comfortable for them to be here, then send for their families.
This "could" have been done years ago, and it has not been done for a reason.
Peace

I am walking away from this thread.
In parting, I will say if we REALLY wanted to keep people from coming into this country illegally,
we could do it.
We also, could legally make it not profitable and comfortable for them to be here, then send for their families.
This "could" have been done years ago, and it has not been done for a reason, which is why I am off this thread.
Peace

I am totally on board with this. Its not the people who are coming in that is destroying jobs in this country its our jobs being exported by politicians and corps alike, can we export them?

Hillwilliam -> RE: Alright, first it was a fence, then Trump's wall... (8/27/2017 11:33:10 AM)

The problem is this.

Illegal immigration has been winked at by both sides for generations.

One side saw cheap labor and increased profits for their corporate overlords.
The other side saw future voters.

Both sides have ALWAYS supported it.

It worked in Berlin..mostly. But, where is there a 2000 mile wall on this planet that works to keep people out?

The Berlin wall was rather more heavily manned than your immigration services could manage along the border with Texas, I suspect.

kind of my point.
Maybe there's a multi-thousand Km wall somewhere that works but, if there is, I'm unaware of it and wish enlightenment.

Sorry about that onething, whoever you are.
Weird there's anough moderation on this board to put three or four people on approval with the other shit they should be looking into going uncorrected. I'd have thought the cookies on the server being so fucked up that they log people into random accounts rather than their own would be worth a look, wouldn't you?

When Reagan made the last "illigal Immigration Deal" with Teddy Kennedy there were two parts to it. Teddy got amnesty for existing illigals and employers were supposed to be fined heavily for hiring future illigals. Of course employer fines were never implemented because Teddy never meant for it to happen. If that part of the law is enforced, I imagine a chicken wire fence would be sufficient.

Having said that, I'm more interested in the wall because of drugs coming across the border. No wall will work on its own. What will work is the political will to enforce the border. Sanction employers. Set up a guest worker program. Enforce a border with staff, equipment and modern electronics and we'll stop more drugs while having a system for people to come, work and go home. I don't even have a problem with a path to citizenship. Someone wants to come and lean English and do a couple of hitches in the military, I say they can be a citizen after. Determine a few other method besides the military for illigals to make contribution above and beyond and I'm down for that.

What I am not in agreement with is doing nothing as has been done for political reason since Reagan. If the symbol of the wall is what finally makes the politicians realize it's time to get serious, then force them to build the fucking wall.

The only thing I disagree with on your entire post is the timing. Illegals were 'winked at' long before Mr. Reagan.

If any president actually took action against the people employing illegals, rather than the wetbacks themselves, it'd have an impact. Of course, it'd also involve taking action against white folk in California and Texas who vote, so it won't happen. Expecting the fuckers to employ citizens and pay them minimum wage is like expecting them to pay their taxes, isn't it?

Works fine. Not thousands of Km but proportional.

In the past we had the Brazero program that seemed to work for our farmers and Mexican workers.

Marini -> RE: Alright, first it was a fence, then Trump's wall... (8/27/2017 12:26:40 PM)

One of the many things that "fires" me up, is we harass 80 year old women in airports that are American born citizens,
while we have NO idea who is in this country.

Anyone that wants to get into this country, pretty much CAN get into this country.
Most of our security measures are a joke.

Tunnel into US/23 Chinese nationals/7 Mexicans
I have been saying for YEARS, Mexican illegal immigrants may not be our biggest worries.
